b*tch is Biden wins the nomination, Trump has got this on lock

Biden is currently polling stronger against President Trump than any other Democrat currently running: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/national_general_election/

i am certain that if Biden were to "win" the nomination, he would be soundly and overwhelmingly defeated by Trump.

i am likewise certain that if Bernie were to win the nomination, he would obliterate Trump.

"Objectively" - ha! You are out of your mind if you think Biden is "not left at all." You're so used to your liberal bubble that you actually think America writ large reflects what you see on your computer screen all the time. I wonder if you've ever even had a real conversation with a Republican or Independent.

If you support Obamacare, the Paris Agreement and Clean Power Plan, gun violence prevention legislation, and LGBT rights - just to name a few! - you are at least center-left. And I know that to be true because nearly every Republican currently in Congress voted against those things when given the chance (with the possible exception of Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, a Republican who represents a Congressional district Hillary Clinton carried).

Of course there are other candidates who are further to the left than Biden; that doesn't mean he's a Republican. And if you think he is, then you're wrong. Plain and simple. Because words do still mean something, and not just whatever you want them to.

Left doesn't mean Democrat and right doesn't mean Republican. :sharon:

This is why political science classes are important. He's economically center-right. And when it comes to social issues, let me remind you he voted against busing. :triggered:

"Liberal bubble" I have to laugh because I'm not a liberal lol. I'm a leftist. And there's a difference. The fact that you don't know it speaks to your ignorance. Yes, I talk to moderates, liberals, conservatives, and Trump supporters all the time, in person. I'm sorry you never learned political science from an objective, academic standpoint.

If he wins, his task will be to convince progressives to vote for him, not the independents, moderates or the small minority of republicans who dont like Trump. Cant believe he doesnt understand that.

Honestly, he'll have to get all of those bases to win. The regular, registered likely Democratic voters alone will win him the states Democrats always win, but not the swing states, and depressed voter turn out from any base weakens his reliability in maintaining states Democrats always win, just like it did for Hillary.  He really is clueless :deadbanana:

The idea that moderates, independents, and never Trumpers are all just bending over backwards to vote for a candidate that offers nothing but cheap platitudes about "Obama!" and "Bipartisanship"  and nothing that will materially impact their lives different from how things normally go in Washington is a pernicious lie.  Even the Never Trumpers want things politically in America, and as much as they say they like Joe, I expect many of them to just stay home or vote third party since at the end of the day, Joe isn't actually offering them anything they want materially. Those people will turn into single issue voters and say "look, I love Joe, but at the end of the day I'm pro life and thats that!"

Biden isn't really running *as* a centrist, he is running on  centrism, which is a losing strategy. Centrism is actually a resistance to change in either direction ideologically, like it is defined by that resistance. "Moderates" or center-l/r are people who triangulate positions between both sides of the spectrum and have some economically right ideas and socially left ones or vice versa, and that means they don't readily ID as Dem/Republican. Ultimately for Joe,  It means you he has no intention of running a campaign that is intended to increase voter turn out, or to excite people about goals, vision, message for the country.  What he is running on  is vague Nostalgia, with an implied assumption that this Nostalgia alone will power many millions of people who either hated or tolerated Obama, voted for Obama and then voted for Trump, or stayed home and didn't vote for Hillary to turn out to vote for him... Basically, Joe is really out here praying that people overwhelmingly elect him by voting against Trump and not for Joe. The buffoonery, the clownery of it all :deadbanana:

Like, Joe doesn't have to run on nothing to offer voters, that is a flippant choice. Even Pete Buttigieg is running a campaign that purports to have a vision, message, policy goals and plans, and a "progressive" agenda. It's mostly fake, but Joe Biden in comparison is... "remember Barack?" literally.

It's not like he offered this idea, he was asked a silly question, and wanted to answer in a way that seemed "open".

He could have just said no :emma: Hell, I would've respected him if he laughed and said no at the same time :fan: Saying yes to this question is an attempt to appease Republicans and Independents who hate Trump, but trying to win them over is not worth the effort strategically in the first place, so he's contorting himself for no reason.

I hope Biden is just trying to show he's willing to work across the aisle on stuff that most everyone agrees with. A democratic president with a republican vice president would be a nightmare. A total complete nightmare.
