PoshLife 17,019
Even a more moderate Democrat like Biden is still fairly to the left of most Republicans (regardless of what GGD users will tell you), so a unity ticket like that just doesn't work. Like, what principled Republican would want to sit in the VP seat disagreeing with their boss for four years.

HorusRa2 5,005
So for the 56465456465465456th time can we please stop letting the moderate democrats on TV tell people that we have to pick the establishment pick? And for the democrats on GGD, can we once and for all quit the vote blue no matter who cult like following we got going on? How about we elect democrats who run on a democratic party platform which (in general) is in opposition to republican party ideals and goals? Just a thought. This is like dealing with negative numbers and saying "at least -3 is more positive than -7". It doesn't make sense. Leftism requires one to challenge corporate status quo and fix power structures and inequalities at least a little. He isn't interested in doing any of that despite his claims to get votes. Bt1 5,213
If he wins, his task will be to convince progressives to vote for him, not the independents, moderates or the small minority of republicans who dont like Trump. Cant believe he doesnt understand that.

REALITY 80,184
It still really baffles me that he's consistently been the #1 Dem for people here in America. Sanders and Warren are 10x better than Biden and actually are wanting to make substantial change in America. We do not need a moderate or centrist Democrat running in the general election, and it pains me to see that the general public doesn't understand that. Like, do y'all want a repeat of 2016? Sure, one could argue that Hillary was/is much more hated than Biden (with her emails, Benghazi, etc.), but still, when it comes down to actual policy, they're both very much the centrist/moderate lane that is "oh, so electable". Speaking of which, people who want to use the "electability" argument simply just don't understand what they're talking about. Hillary was 100x more electable than Trump and yet, here we are. At least with someone like Sanders, most of America genuinely believes in his cause and like his policies. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢. "Objectively" - ha! You are out of your mind if you think Biden is "not left at all." You're so used to your liberal bubble that you actually think America writ large reflects what you see on your computer screen all the time. I wonder if you've ever even had a real conversation with a Republican or Independent. If you support Obamacare, the Paris Agreement and Clean Power Plan, gun violence prevention legislation, and LGBT rights - just to name a few! - you are at least center-left. And I know that to be true because nearly every Republican currently in Congress voted against those things when given the chance (with the possible exception of Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, a Republican who represents a Congressional district Hillary Clinton carried). Of course there are other candidates who are further to the left than Biden; that doesn't mean he's a Republican. And if you think he is, then you're wrong. Plain and simple. Because words do still mean something, and not just whatever you want them to.
