Back then black people were seen as 3/4 of a human & even some animals were considered more important! You have to dehumanize people in order to do horrific stuff to them & be able to justify it. If a lot of the founders looked at black people as less than human(less than cattle also), then in some of their minds nothing was wrong with slavery then!!! 🤷🏾♂️ Egypt. So it's not like "abolishing slavery" was something unheard of at the time. The founders chose not to abolish it. It's a choice and no not because they didn't know it was bad.
