I didn't know there was a nude beach there

 

But that's sad. I went there as a kid (one of my favorite rides ever was there. It was in a dark buildings with rotating seats and cool lights while they played music)...

 

I wanted to go again some summer and now I can't cuz its always closed

 

Based on projections for water levels to rise further to yet another record it's safe to assume it's gonna be closed again

 

Better than Chicago I guess tho... Chicago's outer edges have been getting more splashed and erroted cuz Toronto is a smidge more elevated to lake Ontario than Chicago is to Lake Michigan...

 

In Toronto it's mostly the islands that are getting submerged and the beaches that are mostly gone

 

But in Chicago the flooding has caused more severe problems and this year they expect parks and trails to be flooded

 

Did u see those pics of the bike sidewalks by the water front submerged in Chicago?

 

The irony is until 2013 levels kept dropping since 1980s due to global warming but last 7 years its been reversing to the opposite extreme

I love that ride too! I low key still go on it with my friends and always request applause to be played. It’s epic. 
 

Are we expected to have high levels this year again? There has been hardly any snow or precipitation this winter.

 

Yeah Chicago has it worse. No argument there. It’ll be interesting to see how the 2020s will affect the lakes and cities. 
 

Side note: While the islands are flooded for a lot of the summer, I find late July and early August is the best time to go. By then the flooded has decreased and manageable. You should try them for next summer!

It depends on the time of the year. Normally it looks completely normal, and then normally on some days where it's a big rain storm or at least super rainy, they'll have to close them, because the waves are literally overtaking the walkways.

Yeah there's definitely the annual fluctuations

 

For example Toronto island which has been getting submerged every year definitely comes back in the fall when the levels drop to their lowest

 

Same with the beaches that are gone and Submerged much of the year now. I saw them come back from September towards the winter

 

But u definitely see lakes reach a high they never did... The lowest levels now in the fall are almost as high now as what they usually were at their highest in the spring before...

 

At least here in Lake Ontario
