The Beat Goes On - Cash Cash

7.5/10

Pretty catchy dance music but not really as exciting and melodic as their previous stuff.

Burnout - Anarbor

9/10

I love how they're changing and evolving with each new album they release but still managing to sound like their good ole original self.

Halcyon - Ellie Goulding (2012)

Halcyon+Ellie+Goulding+++PNG.png

I've never been a fan of Ellie Goulding. I think she is talented and has good skills, but her voice can be fragile as a sandpaper sometimes. I decided to take a listen to Halcyon because I was highly impressed from Figure 8, Halcyon and My Blood and I wanted to see if there are any more gems in the album. I have to say, there are great tracks on the album, but half of the regular edition album tracks are just annoying or boring. It just proves how Ellie is a hit or miss for me. When she makes a good tracks, I love it, but when her voice becomes weak or the production is annoying (like in the unbearable Anything Could Happen), it's just no. I also have to note that all the bonus tracks are very good, much better than some tracks on the regular edition, and it's a shame that they're all spread in different editions you can't get them with a single edition edition. 6.5/10.

House of Balloons - The Weeknd (2011)

The_Weeknd_House_Of_Balloons-front-large

Such a great mixtape. Smooth R&B and PBR&B tracks with great productions that flatter The Weeknd soothing voice. Even though it's been two years since its release, it still sounds refreshing. I really expect his debut album to be released this year now. 8.5/10.

Nasti Muzik - Khia (2008)

Khia may not be the most sophisticated b---h in the game, but damn she knows to make catchy hip hop music. Khia's flow is not the best though, but she makes it up with very god rapping skills and a surprisingly good singing voice. All the tracks are so bouncy and raunchy and it's just a fun album you can listen to over and over! 9/10.

The Love Club - Lorde

This debut EP from a 16 year old New Zealand girl is pretty astounding. The production throughout the 5 songs is very simplistic but effective in showcasing Lorde's great vocals. In a way to me it sounds like indie-hip/hop-electronic. All in all it's a very unique sound and like nothing I've ever heard really. I think my favorite part of the sound are the rich harmonies that ring through the songs. I just love this girl now and this EP is fantastic and sooo addictive. I definitely recommend it. My favorite is The Love Club and my least favorite and the only dud in my opinion is Biting Down. It's a little too repetitive.

1. Bravado - 92/100

2. Royals - 95/100

3. Million Dollar Bills - 95/100

4. The Love Club - 96/100

5. Biting Down - 82/100

Total Score: 92/100

Idk why but indie/alternative pop and rock as been a staple for me as of 2012, it's just so diverse, creative, and unique. It's refreshing and soothing especially this band and this album. It's a great debut album and perfect to listen to in the summer for a chill and relaxing mood.
