You're right that it isn't the end of the world or anything. He has a right to make whatever business decisions he wants. He even said at the time it wasn't anything personal.

But the way he spoke about her so callously, at a time when it was cool to bash Gaga, and when it was very clear it was affecting her personally... yeah. It was unnecessary. If you love her so  much (as he said at the time) why speak about her like she's a joke?

Anyway, I'm not going to harass him on twitter, or even think about him at all, but if he comes up here I don't think there's anything wrong with a little sh*t talking

I actually think he wanted her to fail. Like, who actually says that about ANY artist, let alone an artist that he initially helped? Jealousy is ugly, Akon. Regret is even uglier.

The assistant thing made no one look good. That said, the assistant was some wealthy white girl who apparently barely worked for Gaga  and complained about having to buy and make Gaga food when she was working (which is pretty standard assistant sh*t) along with some other mundane things (can't remember them all...this was ages ago during the ARTPOP era).  I just remember the assistant, a wealthy white chick, compared grocery shopping to being a "slave" which is...gross.  Plus, Gaga said she stole from her and would call up designers asking for discounts using Gaga's name. All this was in the NY Post or NY Daily News, back in the day, but slanted pretty heavily against Gaga.

So...the assistant thing was a hot mess. I'm sure there's more, but that's the meat of it as far as I remember.

Oh I kind of heard about this a few years ago. Isn't this the assistant who claimed Gaga ordered her to sleep (literally)/cuddle with her? And comparing grocery shopping to slavery? Gurl, . All the crap that Gaga had to go through during the ARTPOP era is insane.

I don't have an issue with this. He did help her get started so LG will forever be grateful for that. He left when it got bad but that's business. He didn't really trash her. If he wants in, and LG is ok with it, then go for it. LG will be in charge and will take the bigger cut this time anyway.

Having said that, I'd prefer other producers and sounds. Not his.

Just to be clear : Gaga's label is Interscope. Her collaboration with Akon (Konlive), Kierszenbaum (Cherrytree Records) and Streamline were only partnership, like sponsorship. She needed them to launch her career. Does she still need them to produce her records ? Absolutely not. Her last record is only produced by Interscope Records. All her partnerships cashed out. 

 

Tbh if Gaga decides to work again with him, you'll just all need to sit down. You literally just don't know how is their relationship right now.
