He could surpass all of them hype-wise, except for maybe Beyonce. It may seem ludicrous at first and you might think that the beauty industry clout doesn't translate well into other "currencies" (a.k.a. other spheres of culture). However, his following within that industry is massive and highly diverse, which really works in his favor. You have everyone, from the most basic teen girls to queer, middle-aged emos, stanning him and if he gets the sound & art direction right, he could be music's next Paris Hilton. Although many of his songs are arguably fun and I even personally like/d a handful of them, I really do not think he would be at the top of the billboard chart without any kind of serious vocal/musical training.
