I was raised by a f*cking nationalist. An extreme nationalist. If you knew about the bullsh*t I have been taught growing up - actually be glad you don't. Some of it still sticks I guess. If it makes any difference to you, I voted for the most pro-immigration party at our most recent election.

Maybe that's the reason:lana:

This is just sad. Blaming covert nationalist tendencies on your upbringing that you know is wrong? That's lazy and part of the problem. Point blank, you saw that the immigrant population of Canada was increasing and you decided that that was sad. Also, don't assume people don't know what you were taught in your upbringing? A lot of people know what is in a nationalist upbringing. You ain't special.

Trust me I have suppresed 90% percent of what I was taught my whole life.

Well. That's excellent

I like how u acknowledged that u weren't thinking properly in your comment about POC becoming the majority when you were putting them all in the same category and took it back

Ur obviously open minded enough to re-evaluate ur opinions and ppl here should be discussing stuff more civilized

I don't like the whole thing of slamming people as ignorant and brushing the off or insulting them... If u think someone has incorrect thinking in ur opinion you discuss with reasoning

GGD is incapable of that tho it Always has to turn to insults, digs or attacks :saladga:

I think it's sad but it also seems like he's acknowledging it and trying to do something about it which is more than can be said about many people

I... you know what, I give up. You win. Let's just say you're right. You're woke. I'm just ignorant. I'm leaving this thread now.

Bye.

Probably India and China have more skilled people, because US also targets them.

Yet Indians and Chinese are the ones most hurt by H1B (work visa) and green card caps. They have enough volume that there's a huge huge wait list (even though the quota for other countries might not be filled).

There's a total cap and then from each country, there can be only 7.5% or so of the total cap. This naturally hurts applicants from high volume applicant countries.

I like that you're willing to change and have a conversation. Just an idea though. Instead of trying to suppress, try to think of alternative viewpoints and why they might be good. Don't suppress your feelings. Instead, change the ideas you may have learned from an ethnonationalist upbringing. My dad is like that too.

Bye.

Bye, baby!

Have fun not having a conversation! Not everything is about one person winning or losing. Also, I never once called you ignorant. I said you misunderstood something, big difference. If you don't want to have a conversation because you are in the wrong then good luck doing literally anything in life.

I thought the 7% for each country limit was for the lottery visa. Will look it up tomorrow.

I’d be happier if a lot of them weren’t so conservative. You’re just replacing the skin tone of homophobia, racism and sexism if not.

Any user who reads this information and reacts sad is doing so because they are upset by such news for racist and xenophobic reasons. Unless they want to speak up and explain why less white people in a nation is such a sad thing for a different reason? Let’s hear it.

Don't @ me hun. I'm working towards the dream of moving to Canada in a few years time and I welcome its diversity. My extended family are literally Sunni Muslims, my family's Irish and my Grandmother's late ancestors were Spanish Gypsies. I, myself, am a born and bred unicorn with all these diverse backgrounds. Tbh, I think my finger just slipped.  If you could see the state of my iPhone screen at the moment and how it literally controls itself sometimes cos of the shattered touchscreen... Don't brand me a racist or xenophobe ever again. :v: If I told you I'm actually pro-Brexit too, would that completely contradict what I just said to you or do you just like branding people that word without truly knowing what a true racist in 2019 is?
