Are the Grammys still a good promo spot?

People keep saying that Gaga is going to perform a new single at the Grammys and that she would be stupid to miss that promotional opportunity.

Do people even watch the Grammys anymore? Like it worked out when she performed Born This Way, but a lot of BTWs success came from TFM.

When was the last time a song got good gains from being debut at the Grammys? I can’t really think of any songs.  There’s too many other performers to stand out at the Grammys.  It’s not the super bowl or the oscars

I feel like you just cannot rely on the performance alone lol

You also need to promote, maybe drop the video at the same time, discounts :ally:, and physical release, all of that to have a great debut

But at the same time, BB hot 100 is not so strong at this point so...

I think it helps in drawing attention to an artist, especially at the start of an era, if they win something and premiere new music thanks to media coverage. I don't think a performance alone can drive attention unless it's something completely out of the box or surprising to those watching.  But these rules change for more established artists like Gaga that have attention and hype. I still think it would be a great opportunity to promote new music, but who knows what she'll do?

Well no, the GRAMMYs don't help more than Coachella :selena: But it's still a little bit of visibility, and like any public event, it can help your song if you do something great and totally unexpected

Well, it's still better than going to radio stations and lying about your single's meaning :lana:

Harris Walz 2024

Its one of the few stages to make a historical music moment. I think it's still one of the most sought after performances out there.

That’s How I Like It wasn’t a hit until the Grammys.
Chained to the Rhythm definitely wouldn’t have done as well without them as well.

Are you suggesting she  pull an August 2016 and drop her lead single with 0 promo again because she's "above these award shows" as folks here like to claim?

No, I won't elaborate. I just told you.
