What do you mean "real music"? Because electronic music is also "real music". If you mean live instrumentation, I think she's a genius at both and that's coming from someone who genuinely adores Joanne (it's probably my first or second most listened album of hers).

I do think her piano performances f*ck hard tho, but she's been doing those since forever, regardless of the main genre of her albums.

I don't see it as a ballad but I can see how it can be interpreted as one, so I won't argue with you on that. Regardless, none of her albums are mostly ballads. One could say ASIB is but it's still quite varied and it is a romantic movie soundtrack, after all. Not to mention she's had at least one ballad in every album so it's nothing new.

If you listen to these songs and the weird beats Boys Noize uses, you can even detect the same vibe from Sophie's production. Gaga specifically selected two sonically similar producers to create a cohesive sound I guess. You can also hear the same beats in the first Haus Labs music.

 

If you think Gaga is going to make a ballad/Joanne 2.0 out of these producers, then she must be insane.

Also Gaga collaborated with an Indian DISCO artist. She's coming back to slay with her beats and aint playing around.

and Bloodpop and Gaga's role? Commercialise the music so they are more digestible for more mainstream audiences. Even Bloodpop's solo productions are highly dancey and is nowhere near ballads lol.

Yeah but we saw the results of her last EDM/pop album ARTPOP (don’t get me wrong I love that album and  I started stanning her during that era) that was so messy. If she’s doing a pop/electronic album she better make some pop masterpiece like TFM or some pop-rock/glam music like on BTW. At least with a piano/country/rock album we know that it would be good both subjectively as fans and objectively for the GP.

But anyway whatever she puts out you’ll see me overplaying it and suffering because it bombed on the charts lol

I mean, she can make great electronic music and ARTPOP is a phenomenal album in all of its messiness. There's more to music than charts and Joanne and ASIB were also pop, just not exclusively dance pop.

She's always been diverse when it comes to genre output so it's not like she's gonna keep making the same album over and over again or revamping her old ones.

All music is real music. No such thing as superior or inferior genre, only how much effort the artist put into it and how much it resonated with you, personally.

I love her ballads as much as her dance songs and you know what I love the most? when she makes dance ballads (Hair, The Edge etc.)

Ugh... Hair... it was one of my fave on BTW. It gives me so much life and inspiration to just wear (or to be) what I wanna wear (be) and not care what others think.
