Economy 52,844
https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/canadian-inflation-accelerates-to-2-2-core-highest-in-a-decade-1.1364372 Canada has the highest interest rates set by the Central Bank in the Developed World at 1.75% higher than USA, Europian Union, Japan, Australia, UK etc some of which even have negative rates and on top of that print money via Quantitative Easing Despite money printing and super low rates the developed world is struggling with near 0 inflation which can have negativ economic consequences. 2% inflation is seen as the perfect desired balance which Nations continue to fail to reach Canada on the other hand never once printed money by QE and has the highest interest rates in the developed world yet often overshoots inflation. The latest reading was 2.2% just above the desired level It is not fully clear why despite tighter monetary policy Canadas inflation continues to be on the higher end which is a contradiction to the developed world right now tho rapid population growth has been proposed as one possible factor
