loveyougaga 40
I have no problem with religion as long as it doesn't walk over someone's freedom, human's and animal's rights, as long as no one tries to force their beliefs on me. I'm Christina but there are so many things in my religion that I don't like.

For example did they ask those people who are no longer religious if they support same sex marriage? I bet you they’d still say no because “it’s disgusting” or whatever reason they have. Before Christianity Europe wasn't as homophobic for example. Yes people always find something to hate as you said but religions tend to give them some phony "authority" to apply their hateful belief. Some dude can hate but once there are scriptures ( that his society globally see like the truth ) that validate a part of his hateful vision it makes it easier for him to be socially justified when he act hatefully. When you check the most homophobic countries of the world you mainly see nations where one of the 3 "big religions" are at least quite present if not very present. The less homophobic countries on the other hand will clearly tend to be countries where the rate of non-believers is bigger and where people take more distance with religion. 21 hours ago, ReginaGeorge said: Hate your ****ing government that has no links to islam and is still doing worse that any religion there is. Already done! 21 hours ago, ReginaGeorge said: Y’all acting as if religion is the worst problem we all have. I have to laugh. Comments were just saying it was good news according to them, not that nothing worst was going on. 21 hours ago, ReginaGeorge said: Hate yourself for directly or indirectly discriminating anyone for being different or having different beliefs. Cause merely thinking it's great to see societies getting more secular or even that societies with no religion would be better is " directly or indirectly discriminating" its believers? Well we couldn't be able to express an opinion anymore if doing so would already be oppression as you implied.

You really think the world would get better without religion? I’m actually questioning your judgement if you think so. That is such an illogical idea. If anything, things could get worse because then people would turn against different nations and different races more than ever. People will always find something to hate, no matter how much you try to deny it. For example did they ask those people who are no longer religious if they support same sex marriage? I bet you they’d still say no because “it’s disgusting” or whatever reason they have. Hate people who hate others, don’t hate religions. Hate your ****ing government that has no links to islam and is still doing worse that any religion there is. Hate yourself for directly or indirectly discriminating anyone for being different or having different beliefs. This. Hate exists among non religious ppl too. Just as there's religious ppl who do not take their beliefs to an extreme and hate on others If ppl have hate on their heart, religion removal is not what's gonna fix it
dit 46,738
What I noticed with a lot of Arabs and other muslims in general is that they would like their countries and governments to be secular and they would like to passively practice their faith (as in not attend mosques every friday and not pray etc..) but they would still like to identify as Muslim. A lot of ppl confuse that if Arabs are losing faith in certain practices like attending mosques or not drinking or not wanting religious institutes to meddle in politics that it suddenly means they do not want to identify as muslim at all (Even culturally so). This is a false narrative. Many MANY still want to identify as muslim and would like to practice certain elements of the faith like Eid celebrations and maybe even fasting during Ramadan because it has almost become cultural and not just religious. I feel like I see so many Westerners have wet dreams about Arabs denouncing their faith and all Muslims becoming completely secular and hating Islam etc..when that is not what is necessarily happening nor is it what young Arabs (and other muslims) actually want. I think they just want a system similar to that in some Eastern European nations and Turkey for example where faith still plays a role in peoples lives culturally speaking in but that it does not dictate their lives politically and legally etc..Would you agree queen @Regina George? Candy Gaga 5,374
Here in Egypt we literally kicked out the Islamic party from the presidential house after only 1 year after they proved they're a group of terrorists , now any person using Islam in politics or is an Islamic leader gets **** ton of hate as everyone now knows their motives are always horrible. There are 10M underground atheists some of them start coming to light into the media and asking for their rights same with LGBT memebers. More people are leaving Islam and now there are millions of girls that took off head scarf. It's not a good or bad thing that they are leaving religion , it's just great that we are starting to think without opression and come forward with what we believe. Next few years could show a huge spark of freedom here.

PartySick 172,536
Isn't this a global trend though? More and more people identify as either atheist or agnostic with each generation that comes along. And theocracies are historically awful so I would hope they'd be opposed to them Whimsical bitch

Actually your analogy is much better than mine in regards to Eastern Europe or Turkey because actually Americans are pretty culturally religious as well. Thank you for sharing! Most of my Arab friends who identify as Muslim tend to do so for the cultural impact it has left on them. Islam has influenced the names their parents chose for them, their history, and even in their language. It doesn't seem like many people go on about their lives with "Muslim" as their one sole identity anymore.
