Lmao. Good riddance

The Conservatives in Canada both Federally and Provincially can't seem to keep a leader to save their lives :selena:

The last leader that actually stayed a long time in Conservative party was Stephen Harper and who was a decent PM actually (with the exception of not doing enough for climate change)

Do better, Conservatives

I don't even know that much about him tbh

I know he put forward a pretty terrible budget platform for the elections... Other than tax cuts on bottom income bracket and public transit tax refunds and maternity leave tax refund...

Most of the budget spending increases went to totally useless things like kids enrolled in sports tax credits

Ok it's not useless but we really got bigger problems to deal with that require money than kids doing sports and other goodies like that :rip:

Well his anti-abortion stance and past homophobic remarks were enough to make me not like him, though I don't actually think he would have been able to do anything significant there even if he were PM.

But it was his open courting of white nationalists that I find very dangerous. We've seen how that's going in the States and it's very worrying to me.

Aight. I don't know much about his history so I'll take ur word for it

His parties platform this election wasn't terrible in the sense that it prioritized struggling families (which is a rather rare platform for the conservatives)

I just thought there was too much waste programs they were promising tho as well that could better use the money

I thought Trudeau had the best overall platform even tho I didn't love any of the parties platform. They all had stuff I didn't like but Trudeau's was the closest to acceptable to me :madge:

While I don't support the NDP overall I did love their childcare plan because it's a great investment. It helps parents and families budgets while simultaneously helping women go back to workforce after child bearing not to mention it helps gender inequality

I wish Trudeau had a simmilar plan to that

Careful, Americans have heard that BS from conservatives for years, it's just Bologna so they can be racists, homophones, and sexists in the name of "family values" & "blue collar workers".

I was talking purely about the budget plans...

The bottom income tax cut, the tax refund for maternity leave (Trudeau's plan is better tho), and public transit tax credit I think we're good ideas tbh

I just didn't like the rest of the budget

I don't think it's BS... Whatever flaws a party has does not invalidate the good ideas...

By that logic I could say every party is just BS cuz all of them I dislike in one aspect or another tbh
