Can you imagine the unbelievable stress she is under, on top of her existing psychological condition? Her childhood has been robbed, now she being paraded like she’s some messiah and saviour like the Joan of Arc (who was betrayed by her “supporters” and then burned at the stake, by the way). Her parents and funders should all be ashamed of manipulating a mentally ill child. Children are not allowed to be children anymore. They are now pawns for political and propaganda games. I agree with this. I fear she's going to miss out on all the normal things 16-21 year olds do.. so in a way, I agree with Trump when he says she needs to chill out. I like that she's such a protagonist and speaks up, but if we take a look, she has not accomplished that much yet.. US is still out of the paris climate accord, China is doing a lot of renewable energy innovation but is still expected to grow tenfold when it comes to CO2 emissions, we have India, Africa, Latin America (mainly Brazil).. EU is still going to have a massive debate about it... Climate change is a topic that's already very much on the agenda, and the solution is not to force everyone to stop eating meat (they won't - meat from a lab should solve that), to drive electrical cars and hydrogen cars (only makes sense if the energy is green anyway..), or stopping with flying.. countries like Denmark and such who are almost entirely "green" use nuclear power for about half of it... I think nuclear + meat production in a lab + electrical/hydrogen mobility is the way to go.. and her repeating the narrative really only accomplishes some handclaps and "wow she's right" and then nothing happens. Just targeting the 180 world heads of state is a weak strategy. So much CAN be done. But it’s up to schools, businesses, churches, hospitals and other entities to set their own targets and follow them. Leave the political games out of it. I would also add people's personal choices in there too As much as government policy might affect emissions from certain industries or stuff like the power grid... A lot of emissions come directly from the types of decisions we as ppl make including what products we buy Ppl want the government and rich and powerful to do their part... That's fine and reasonable But for truly maximal results we need EVERYONE to do their part without trying to shift responsibility to someone else The ellites in power (businessman and policiticians) may have more power in terms of policy but the bottom 99% of people still makeup the majority of target consumer's The world can't change if we don't practice what we preach and I think far too many ppl are vocal about what governments need to do without doing much themselves Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
