Trump did then go on to say "we want nothing to do with the NHS"  (but then again this is Trump we're talking about so kinda tricky to trust his word :ladyhaha:) - Of course I'm not totally naive in thinking more parts of it won't ever be sold because there's always that possibility, but I guess we won't really know much more until Brexit is done.

I really don't think you can trust what Boris has to say either, they are cut from the same cloth :bradley:

I'm skeptical, but I would welcome evidence of that. I never bought into Corbyn's scare tactics (exactly what Blair used to do re: nhs) and documents that really didn't mention anything alarming. I think Labour voters forgot that it was Labour who started selling off the NHS in the first place. Conservatives have been in power for 9 years and nothings happened to it, not to say something could  happen but I just don't see it, personally.

THIS. Too many Labour voters on my social timelines this morning crying that we've voted for homelessness, and voted to give up our NHS. Trump said he dont want the NHS, Boris said it isnt on the table. It won't pass parliament if they tried to anyways. Have faith UK! Brexit and all the money saved from EU membership will be good, but I guess we'll just have to see. I voted Green, but this year, I was a Green-Conservative judging by all the quizzes I took the past 2 weeks. I just stuck with Green for our planet and I couldnt decide.

Boris Johnson will turn the UK into a Little America and its sad. You cannot  trust what BJ or DT says... they are known liars! The UK has no hope honestly. Brexit is the worst (2nd worst thing after this) thing to happen to the UK and it will be financially worse off. The NHS is up for sale.

I knew I should’ve moved to Scotland with my mum 10 years ago 😭 I’m baffled that I’m from mining villages, places the tories left in disarray in the 80s, we were branded as thugs and anti-democratic for not wanting our industry destroyed and now my constituencies voted conservative. A travesty.

We’ve had more labour governments since Thatcher though I think? So it does shock me but I thought after people realised Brexit is a mess, the Tory government is self serving and the fact we will end up with no deal because it will take longer than the end of January, maybe even 2020 tbh to plan everything from scratch... I thought we’d do the right thing.

It sounds like you could be from the same area as me. Myself and my husband planned to move to Scotland also quite some time ago but it never happened

Boris Johnson has a majority of 78... meaning he can push through anything he wants. If he brings it to Parliament that the NHS is in the trade deal, you would need most of the Tories to go against the PM... and that is unrealistic. He could push it through in parliament, and nobody can stop him

from BBC:

Bring back the Withdrawal Agreement Bill to Parliament before Christmas to achieve Brexit by the end of January

£20.5bn additional funding for the NHS in England by 2023-24, 50 million more GP appointments and 50,000 more nurses

20,000 more police officers over the next three years in England and Wales

No rises in income tax, National Insurance contributions or VAT

Introduce an Australian-style points-based immigration system, which treats everyone equally regardless of where they come from

I meant worldwide but I don't doubt what you're saying :(

Here in Canada we got Trudeau which isn't terrible but Conservatives still gained momentum and NPD lost some, in Quebec we got the most boomer government ever, then Brasil, now UK, etc.

Conservatism is rising and I CANNOT understand how. Where the **** are young people when it comes to voting???

so they're good then? I'm confused af. This is why I don't vote because if I don't know about something I'm not gonna vote for it. People can easily say to me "educate yourself about it" but I quite simply don't want to, politics along with money are two of the most evil entities on this planet and I refuse to take part in it or fuel it. Sorry if I sound crusty I just can't stand politics and the impact it has on society and people, it causes wars and hate and I'm not here for it
