I am so glad Scotland rejected this type of politics I knew I should’ve moved to Scotland with my mum 10 years ago 😭 I’m baffled that I’m from mining villages, places the tories left in disarray in the 80s, we were branded as thugs and anti-democratic for not wanting our industry destroyed and now my constituencies voted conservative. A travesty. We’ve had more labour governments since Thatcher though I think? So it does shock me but I thought after people realised Brexit is a mess, the Tory government is self serving and the fact we will end up with no deal because it will take longer than the end of January, maybe even 2020 tbh to plan everything from scratch... I think Labour voters forgot that it was Labour who started selling off the NHS in the first place. Nothing has happened YET but the UK is still to leave the EU and negotiate trade deals with other countries. It is a very real possibility that the NHS could go, especially since Donald Trump himself said that "everything was on the table". England's NHS is performing pretty poorly compared to Scotland's. Trump did then go on to say "we want nothing to do with the NHS" (but then again this is Trump we're talking about so kinda tricky to trust his word ) - Of course I'm not totally naive in thinking more parts of it won't ever be sold because there's always that possibility, but I guess we won't really know much more until Brexit is done.
