If the exit poll is accurate, Scotland has voted in the complete opposite direction to England and Wales. We've rejected the Tory mentality Oh I see. I always knew there was something about Scotland. Good for them! 1 minute ago, ThatBinch said: I think it depends on who is the Democrat nominee. Sanders is Corbyn Lite and I think it's fair to say that the western world ain't about that socialist life. But I predict Biden and maybe Warren could beat him. It also depends on the state of the economy, so we'll see. Good luck. I agree it depends on the candidate, although Biden is literally Hillary 2.0 and we all know how that turned out in 2016. I don't think it's smart running an establishment candidate against a candidate running on populism (Trump) and in an environment where most people are angry with the establishment and how things are being run. Thanks though! We're gonna need it

Here's the thing: I wouldn't say that they aren't about socialism, it's that it pushes very hard against the late stage capitalism that we're in so we get more freak elections like Trump. That said, I don't think it means much for the 2020 American election. What has framed both elections are very different. This is framed from people tired of Brexit drama. The Trump one is with him being impeached AND having never won a popular majority and after a big 2018 loss and more since. I really don't get pundits comparing the two unless they're trying to will Trump into the White House again which would also not be surprising. discourage voters and all that.
