What she (probably) meant was that she didn't know it was a controversial statement until it had already blown up and people started asking her questions about it.

Not worth slamming her for imo :smh:

Pointing out a contradiction does not qualify as a slam. I’ve slammed her art before but not her as a person. As a person she can say whatever the hell she likes. But as an artist, she should have showed more respect towards another artist.

Is this the Billie Daily? I'm surprised so many people are fine with this girl being a bit disrespectful to one of the biggest, most influential  artists of the decade. If this was Katy or Nicki or someone else, I feel like the tone of discussion wouldn't be so tame and '' she said nothing wrong! ''

she said NOTHING about the wearer (aka Gaga) the only thing she said was yikes, about a meat dress, because she's vegan or sumn. She really didn't say anything wrong :air:

Her brother said that Gaga’s vessel was not art, it was just an egg. He was siding with Justin Bieber (of all people), to laugh at Gaga’s artistry. They are meant to be artists themselves, yet showed zero respect for a fellow artist.

Exactly, she's a child. People need to let it the f*ck go. I get that her attitude/tone can be grating, but a) she always has that dismissive tone like a lot of teenagers and b) it's not like she technically said anything wrong.

She didn't articulate her opinion towards her peer in a smart way, and was in general very dismissive of Gaga's vision. She showed no humility or respect. You can disagree and point out how something is not to your liking, but there are ways to do it that sound professional, not bratty and irritating.

The justin bieber quote might be meant to be funny, sometimes I quote nicki minaj stuff but they are meant as memes. But even if her brother was serious about it, it's still not a jab at the "wearer" but what she "wore".

If you are not convinced by ALL that, it'd her brother who said this, so why be upset at her?

Gagadonna

There is nothing wrong with

- having their opinion

- thinking that wearing meat is gross

- not caring about what people think

The only thing wrong here is this fanbase. Mean, delusional, childish and unoriginal.

Exactly my point. Like I said on another thread who cares about what she and her brother think about the meat dress and the Egg vessel. Lady Gaga is iconic with those two events and everyone knows it.

Everyone can focus on Billie Eilish's age to say she's not mature enough to sound professional. But her brother actually sounds like an unprofessional and shady adult.

Let's just put this into another perspective : If Gaga was in the same situation saying' It's just a baggie and a  puffa jacket' about Billie's style and laughing her ass off saying this, you can be 100% sure she would have been trashed for not respecting some newcomer artists and their creative input.

Anyway it's not even worthy to focus on.

I will say something—I think people are being insane about Billie and need to leave her the f*ck alone. But like a lot of teenagers she absolutely comes off as dismissive at times. The Van Halen thing, for example. I don't expect a kid to know Van Halen (they were way before my time, even), but she kind of seemed like "who gives a f*ck" and her tone of voice was very dismissive about them. That's why the backlash to Van Halen was intense—way more than this dumb Gaga meat dress thing—with people defending her and others rolling her eyes. And her brother really does come off as obnoxious.

That said, A LOT of teenagers have a very dismissive tone or act like they are too "cool" to know sh*t about the past and they grow out of it. It's nothing new. H*ll, even Lorde sort of did the same thing back in the day. Some people are making a huge deal out of nothing.

If Gaga only meant for her art to be a joke, then the laughing wouldn’t have bothered me. But sis Gaga is not a comedian.

It’s funny you would think that I am upset just because I am defending an artist who just got laughed at. I just have ZERO respect for artists who show ZERO respect for fellow artists.

So it appears it’s ok to laugh at an artist, but it’s not ok to be upset when that happens.
