Lilmonzter 2,864
I am not pressed at taylor, I am pressed that Gaga doesn't have one! If anyone should be recognised it's LG her impact is undeniable and huge. Sing C'est la vie

MonSwiftAnton 3,747
and her zombie audience as always. Even if she would have said in her next breath that "Well she might've deserved more than MJ after all", they'd be like: "But then again, she might not": God I hate that woman and her show. weed 73,851
5 #1 albums, 4 1M+ first week sales in a row--all in this decade, had placed on the year-end chart for most years, biggest touring force by far, etc. It doesn't make sense if you don't want it to make sense

I don't really like her either... but I agree with her on this. I think the value of the awards have dwindled compared to the awards handed out in the 70s/80s. Music back then was mostly given to people who could craft AND perform music without the help of many gimmicks (autotune, spectacle performances to mask a lack of talent). Awards these days feel like a shadow of their former selves, but you can agree to disagree of course
I LOVE GGD 1,247
Who honestly cares? Taylor is awesome, Wendy is the sour gossipy aunty. Just don't pay attention. Taylor's relevance in pop culture and music is undeniable wether you like her or not.

And basically only people who have too much time on their hands would watch you? Girl get some motivation somewhere else.
Economy 49,769
1 hour ago, COOOK said: She can't do that comparison when they're both from different generations. I mean, today we have many ways of pushing an artist to the top (streaming, views, etc), whilst there was a time when none of these things existed. I'm not trying to make it sound like Taylor was undeserving, I love her and I'm glad for her wins. Carrying the "Artist of the Decade" title in the 10's is not the same as it was in the 80's for example. And it's neither a bad nor a good thing. So Wendy,... on to the next hot topic. I disagree... With streaming labels and platforms can only advertise but they can't force u to listen to anything. With streaming u can access the music of anyone you want easily even unknown underground artists Before streaming when radio and clubs where the main way to hear new music... U didn't have as much choice, it's whoever the industry shuvved down your throat I think it was easier actually to create megastars in the past whereas now attention can get divided across more artists and it's harder for a label to super promote anyone The biggest advantage is that with social media mega stars can keep closer in touch with their fans. So artists that DO make it big have that at their disposal that in MJs time they didn't But there's more competition now and it's harder to single handedly dominate Before the streaming era there was often 1 or 2 artists that clearly dominated the scene at any given time... Now it's often hard to pick out among several big stars who the biggest overall across the board truly is
Versace 7,960
Other than Adele, no artist this decade comes close to Taylor's commercial success so fair and square she deserves this award. Surely commercial success has to account for something, I know many of you discredit it in favor of critical acclaim, cultural impact, stage presence or vocal capabilities but at the end of the day the numbers don't lie and are not subjective like the other stuff. I'm glad we can trace her winning artist of the decade to a legitimate reason being that people bought her records the most over the 10 past years, it's as simple as that.
