If you don't listen to her or like her then of course she isn't your Artist of the Decade. Tbh I hate these award shows because they're so meaningless. I regret caring so much when Gaga was their darling since now i'm not invested in anyone who attends I can see it much more clearly for what it is. Pointless. I mean, today we have many ways of pushing an artist to the top (streaming, views, etc), whilst there was a time when none of these things existed. I'm not trying to make it sound like Taylor was undeserving, I love her and I'm glad for her wins. Carrying the "Artist of the Decade" title in the 10's is not the same as it was in the 80's for example. And it's neither a bad nor a good thing. So Wendy,... on to the next hot topic. Taylor is not one of my favorite artists. However, labeling an artist to represent the entire decade was always a stretch. Even the 80s is between MJ, Madonna and you also have rock bands, which were huge then. She deserves the awards because she’s the most successful female artist of the decade who’s always been present and relevant and that’s the fact. No one cares if you or I like her.. Those are the facts and everyone who doesn’t agree with them is kinda delusional. I’m not her fan. I like some of her songs but that is honestly not so hard for me to see. It’s not only sales tbh and it’s kinda forgetting the artist from the beginning of the decade. ps I’m not saying that Taylor doesn’t deserves it, it’s not about her, it’s a general thought.
