I'm well aware that caucus states look different from primary states (caucuses should be abolished, by the way, and I'm glad to see some states take steps to do that since they're exclusionary). But you're also aware that the demographic differences between who participates in caucuses vs. ballot primaries did not stop Hillary Clinton from getting FAR, far, far more votes than Bernie Sanders three years ago.

At any rate, you don't look like Miss Cleo, so I'm going to take your prediction for voter turnout in the 2020 primaries with a grain of salt if you don't mind.

Well, I think I should clarify. When I say younger, I mean under 50. In the midterms, the over 50 demo was out voted. The polls generally over sample voters over the age of 65. The average age of cable news viewers are in their 60s. The candidates that cable news talks about favorably are doing great right now (Pete) and perform worse when they get negative coverage (Bernie and Warren). Bernie does amazing with under 39 and is competitive through the under 50. However, you’re never going to see his support fully reflected when you have polls using 70% of people over 65. Also, caucus states always saw Bernie overperform and it’s because of the energy behind his campaign. You can take this with a grain of salt but I’ll be laughing all the way to the bank come February. 

Also, trying to be petty like you are is really amusing because all of my arguments are based on facts.

What's shooking to me is the fact that Booker is polling at 3% and Harris at 5% with Blacks but Pete is polling at 4% and the media says he is doing terrible.

Shocking that Bernie followers and the media are exaggerating.

I can't even tell what your point is. I think you're trying to grasp at straws to discount this poll. Like, we have the crosstabs, we can see that he polls fairly well among Gen X'ers. And yes, he's in fourth among the youngest age bracket, which you still haven't convinced me is going to make a substantial difference next year (since they were lumped in with Gen X'ers in that Pew article about turnout you linked me to). But even if younger voters again have an unprecedented turnout, I'll remind you that Hillary Clinton won the primary despite Sanders having younger voters on lock.

And I don't see where it says that this poll was 70% 65+.

My point is that these polls aren’t accurate because they are fundamentally not designed correctly. This is ONE poll & y’all wanna ignore other polls like Emerson that has Bernie tied in first and Pete in a distant 4th. One poll doesn’t mean anything. The aggregate of polling still shows Pete in a distant 4th. 

Also, I didn’t say THIS poll had over 70% over 65. I used an example of a NH poll that recently had a Pete surge too that did. Jesus. My point is simple: the polling methodology isn’t going to pick up all the voters that show up on voting day. Only “likely” voters based on historical trends.
