I was in elementary school during the the fame (monster) era and i remember being simultaneously impressed and terrified of her, especially of the paparazzi mv and the vmas bleeding/hanging spectacle. She was so intriguing but also very polarizing, everyone around me hated her guts  :saladga:

I thought she was ugly :neyde: cause it was my first time using internet and everyone would use that photoshopped pic of her with the big nose and the messy wig :air:

But overall, I was impressed of how crazy and original she seemed to be  she was my real first favorite artist

I was in elementary also and remember being immensely intrigued as well as ****ing weirded out by her. I loved the feeling of being like "what the hell is she doing" because at that time – and most of my life tbh – people thought of me the same way. That made me feel connected to her. I loved the weirdness because it felt familiar and also exciting. I also remember talking about her publicly with my class mates who were the nastiest people and they were like "but she's like so out there and acts all crazy and ****???" :laughga:

i was born this way, baby

I didn't think much of her I just liked when Just Dance or Poker Face were on the radio but I wasn't like having an instant stan moment. That came later when I saw the fame monster music videos and was mindblown.

Blown Away

I hated Just Dance and constantly called her Lady CaCa :huntyga: Then radio started playing the Glam as You Remix instead of the regular version, which made me like the song. When Poker Face was released I hated it as well, I though she sounded like a man. A few weeks later song grew on me and I was sold.

They shipped it, but it got shipped back

i was 5 and i heard just dance on the radio on my way home from school

from some reason i pictured her having a brown pixie cut and wearing a magenta, floor-length gown. with white adidas trainers. who knows why.

but obviously i began stanning and i’ve stanned ever since:vegas:

I thought she was another one-hit wonder like that Mr. Saxobeat girl and the name Lady Gaga disgusted me because it reminded me of poo.

I was walking through my high school quad and I remember there was some sort of lunch activity going on. Just Dance was playing and the guy a was walking with said that it was a song by a new artist called “lady gaga”. I thought it was it good song. I never really payed much attention to the radio so then once the 2009 Vma paparazzi performance happened I had forgotten about her. I remember watching the performance and omfg was I so mind blown and polarized by her. I instantly became obsessed. I remember I was so in shock about how she was actually singing live and dancing and played the piano and then she hung herself bleeding to death and omg the feels!!

I heard JD and PF and thought they were generic, crap songs and hated her and thought she was weird. :messga:

I gave her a chance during TFM and warmed to her then really loved her when BTW come out.

I must repent!

I started reading abt her in BRAVO magazine after Just Dance came out and at first I thought she was cool, but nothing more. But then the craze started and soon I found myself stanning. I was mostly in awe. I remember hearing Paparazzi for the first time (it was live, AOL Sessions if I'm correct) and I just remember thinking I've never heard a song like that in my life. I also introduced my elementary school to Gaga so there's that. :sis: She was my bulletproof beard - whenever someone called me gay for liking her, I was like "Well she's half-naked all the time, duuuh!". Ooh chile... And of course, I believed all the sh!t she was saying during the TF/M eras. My 12yo ass ate up all of it.

I’ve always liked her music. Just Dance, Eh Eh, Poker Face, LoveGame were all really popular and huge back then. I was around 8. I thought she was really unique and the funny thing is, I never thought of her as ‘weird’. I actually thought she was really cool and brave to be able to wear and do whatever the fck she wanted to do/wear.

But the ‘stan’ part came with Paparazzi. Everyone had heard the song except me. And the snippets of the video and VMA performance I saw on commercials really intrigued me.The internet wasn’t a big thing back then here. Never got a chance to listen to the song on TV. So I scrapped my coins together, went to a cyber cafe and listened to Paparazzi on YouTube, both the video and VMA performance. I became and fan.

Then came Bad Romance, I was devoted to her and became a stan. And never looked back. Never will. Forever my #1. Lady Gaga.
