Huh? Sorry, but thefxck you are talking about? What does this have to do with being gay?! You are good in the mind, bro? :lmao:

I think it's clear, but maybe I'll try to explain it in an even simpler way.

I just don't understand how people struggling for their rights, taking them for granted (for example the LGBT community), question the right to life of other beings (for example, animals). So we fight for a dignified life and equal rights for all beings, or do we choose just some of them?

as a gay, I know what it means to dont have all rights and fight for them. that's why I support the fight for animal rights even more, because unlike us, they can't do it alone.

As I said before, vegans take like 2 clips of a farm not treating the animals correctly and run with it. The whole meat industry isn't bad, nor does it torture the animals. I know the farm I go to treats the animals with care. But if you are so concerned about the animals, what about the animals the get killed by combine harvesters harvesting crops... or do they not matter?

Sadly the global meat industry (as well as the egg and milk industry) is rapidly moving in the direction of factory farming which does torture animals mercilessly to meet the also rapidly global rising consumer's demand for animal products. This is what vegans are concerned about.

I could easily use your own logic against you: most omnivores will take one (usually not even specific) example of a good farm and then ignore the MASSIVE amount of evidence of animal abuse being the rule rather than the exception in modern meat, egg and milk production.

And just for your information, many vegans are concerned about indirect animal suffering, which is the case with for example olive oil, palm oil and coconut oil, very popular products which some vegans have defined as non-vegan because of that issue.

It is possible to get ALL your nutrition without animal products. All the nutrients that exist in animals also exist in vegetation of one type or another (animal products could not contain it in the first place without ingesting it and metabolizing it)

However what I will say is that to be a healthy vegan takes some work, effort and knowledge.

It's easier to be undernourished if your food options are reduced and you do need to know what ur doing and what stuff u must include to make sure ur getting everything

Also like @March34th said, u really need that variety. If you don't eat grains that's an issue. Meat and milk for example are high in B vitamins... But so are grains and bread for example (some of that is due to fortification but it's there regardless). If u only eat fruits and vegetables, u may not get enough B vitamins

Protein is high in stuff like legumes, nuts and mushrooms... There's also always the option of tofu or vegan protein powders. But u need to make sure u include at least a few things like this. If not a vegan could easily have insufficient protein.

girl PERIODDDDDDD omfg you really brought the tea.

like all diets it really, at the end of the day, is up to the individual to assure they know what they need and how to get it, researching stuff is very important,

i find a lot of people who believe veganism isn't substantial think veganism is just eating raw vegetables, or on the other extreme, eating fries and veggie burgers 24/7 - neither of those extremes are healthy in the long run.

just like with omnivorous diets, if one wishes to be healthy and get the most out of their diet, they must be aware of the nutrients they need, and how/where to get them, how often they need them etc, everyone needs to ensure they have a balanced diet regardless of what they do or don't eat, and raw veganism isn't an amazing option for this reason because it's one of the most restrictive subsets of veganism.

another one that isn't really great is "fruitiarian", where you essentially just eat fruits. i've heard from some health professionals that that can be toxic due to the high sugar content in fruit

Ive thought about going vegetarian before (not vegan) I just need the motivation tho which is so hard cuz I love meat

The reason I wouldn't go all the way vegan is because I have bowel inflammatory problems that are triggered by many things and most of them are vegan:

- cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli are the absolute worst for me

- Leafy greens like kale (my fav vegetable) even tho I love it I have to eat them in small amounts

- Citrus fruits have to be in small amounts. If i drink orange juice for example I have to dilute half a cup with water or I'll get diarrhea :air:

- I also react bad to gluten so many types of grain like wheat I shouldn't eat

- Legumes are harsh on me too which pisses me off cuz I love beans. Especially red kidney beans for chilli or my Portuguese bean soup :grr:

I also have to be careful with the amount of refined sugars and coffee I have but those aren't nutritious anyway

Ironically meats never bother me and neither does dairy (if it's goat, cow dairy bothers me a little)

So veganism would be hard for me. I'd have to keep taking supplements or eating the same foods all the time that I can eat

But with vegetarian diet I could still have eggs, cheese and goat milk for example which I can digest. It's more a matter of will power than anything :emma:

that's wonderful that you've wanted to/considering making the switch! but i definitely understand why it can be hard. it was extremely easy for me because i stopped eating dairy when i was 15 and never ate eggs or red meat (i was very picky as a kid and it stayed like that until i was like 14 -16) im almost 20 now and went vegan about a year and a half ago. I also have no food allergies and literally a clean bill of health (besides ptsd but that has nothing to do with food) so i need to remember that it may have been easy for me, but isn't easy for everyone. a lot of vegans forget that.

but even reducing your intake or trying out a vegetarian diet, you'd be doing something amazing to help the environment and your own health. reducitarianism/flexitarianism are both very easy diet adaptations to get into for most people because all it is is making a conscience decision to do one's best to make a small change, or small steps towards a full shift.

I've gone fully vegan recently and I'm certain that it's not vegan diet that killed this poor baby. Stop feeding into stigma!

I guess you are old enough and strong enough to live on that diet but are you really comparing yourself to a toddler? :awkney: Baby is not strong enough for this **** and y’all should know better.

Why are people so triggered over other people not wanting to torture/kill/consume animals? I don’t get what’s so triggering about it? Live and let live goddamn :ladyhaha:

They ****ing killed a child by forcing them to be vegan. And you are here saying what’s so wrong with that? I’m honestly scared for humanity because I see no compassion. Also “live and let live” is so ironic in this case.

Wow this is super horrible. Guess that's what you got with people who clearly have no idea what they're doing with a vegan diet. It's not so simple just cutting out all animal products like you have supplement so many nutrients to make sure you're getting what you'd otherwise be getting from meat, dairy, eggs, etc :air:

And for a baby even more complicated. Not impossible I'm sure but like wtf. And not going to the doctor?? This is what you get when you get radical people who deny all science and government a la anti-vaxxers with veganism.

Veganism is fine when you do it RIGHT but they have no idea clearly.

By the way, imagine being so sure of yourself and only reading and believing sources that you want to that you genuinely believe humans have been almost exclusively carnivores from the beginning :air:

It's basically the opposite lmaooo like meat was so much more rare and was used to supplement diets of mostly plants. Ie hunters and gatherers??

Literally most all the evidence and science demonstrate humans have been omnivores and in many cases not meat eaters, especially the closest descendants of the great apes who ate and survived almost only on fruits and plants in the jungle.

Later we would salt and dry meat but it wasn't until we got control over fire and such that we really started eating meat since it could then be cooked and more readily consumed.

The ignorance and self-assuredness :smh:

I love helping the environment, there's a lot I actually do like decline plastic bags at stores, request at drive thrus they don't give me unnecessary wrappings for extra garbage, keep AC and Heating at reasonable temperature (it's not that hard to wear long sleeve in winter the heat doesn't have to be blasting to make a sauna), avoid idling car... Even if I go to McDonald's for example I neither get a straw or lid to reduce garbage cuz I figured drinking from it like a cup works just fine . but yes vegan or vegetarian diet would be a further help and I have not done that

What I have done tho is try to buy as cruelty free as possible. Like free range eggs (I know they still are pretty crammed but better than a cage), and stuff like grass fed meat etc...

I know that doesn't ultimately change the fact that they are killed or help the environment but that's where I am at now :emma:

Were did I say that what they did was okay? In fact, if you actually read all my replies, you’d see that I condemned these parents for being idiots and killing their baby. Please try to inform yourself or at the very least read my replies before you spew **** outta your mouth. Thanks love :huntyga:
