I was expecting Bey to get nominations for Homecoming but certainly did not expect to see TLK getting all that love. Didn't expect some names to show up in the general categories, but there are always unexpected surprises... I think an AOTY nomination for ASIB would have been well-deserved considering critical acclaim/commercial success but I guess it's been too long/voters didn't care for it as much as we thought. Vampire Weekend might take this (solid album and every few years, the winner would be the lesser predicted choice, e.g., Beck (2014) and Arcade Fire (2010).) I'm happy to see that ARUTW is getting the recognition it deserves for the excellent songwriting but tbh it might have a better chance at winning in the pop solo category. I mean, if You Need To Calm down made the cut then the bar wasn't THAT high? No shade to Taylor, I just thought that that particular song is one of the weakest on Lover. Stans hate her now but her nomination count ain't nothing surprising! She has wide appeal! I think if someone with a lot of noms is going to lose everything it's gonna be Lil Nas!
