I understand this mindset, but at the same time, this is better than them still donating to anti-LGBTQ groups. You definitely can't change the past, but they can at least try to be a little bit better in the future.

I think some of organizations they supported in the past used conversion therapy. The violent electroshock kind.

everyone is hating on them like their donations were intended for anti LGBT purposes specifically even tho these organizations do a lot of other stuff (including good)

 

im asking if theres evidence that their donations were meant for the LGBT aspect of it

The owner of the company had plenty of other similar places he could have easily donated to. 

But he did not. Instead he funneled the donations made under the company's name to many other companies that are pretty clear on their QUILTBAG community stance. Being staunchly against it. 

The CEO/owner/starter/whatever has also made his clear anti-LGBTQIA stances. 

It's not like we caught him with a smoking gun. 

However murder cases can be made entirely with circumstancial evidence. 

And there's plenty of circumstancial evidence. Nothing direct. But choices have been made. Choices that could have been avoided.

Of course there isn't. I mean, donations don't normally specify what particular cause it can be used for towards an organisation.

And I disagree with your view that people are unforgiving. In these circumstances, there were people that were potentially hurt and harmed by the organisations, funded by Chic Fil A. Just because they stopped doesn't mean they are 'good' now, like just because you stopped raping people doesn't mean people should forgive you for being a rapist lol. The point lies in whether they can truly acknowledge that it was a MISTAKE and support the LGBT community or even simply put out a statement : "We were wrong in supporting...." Till then, this action is quite meaningless and seems more like a business move than anything else.
