World Debt Hits $250 Trillion

Global debt has hit a quarter of a quadrillion dollars ($250 Trillion)

 

Of that amount about $70 Trillion is Government debt with the US and Japan alone making up nearly half that amount

 

Such huge leverage both in Government and Private sector makes global economy extremely vulnerable to even modest increases in interest rates making some economists worried we’ve become completely dependant on post 2008 extremely low rates

 

Almost everyone has high debt. Even Countries like Canada and Australia with very low Government debt in turn have very high consumer debt and business debt

 

Some Countries like Japan, and Italy have opposite problem with low private sector debt but high Government debt.

 

Few Countries are in good standing in both aspects, but some are bad in both like the US

Apparently, US debt spread between US citizens is something like a quarter of a million dollars per person  that might just be our government's debt though.
