Violent ongoing protests from political unrest are causing a pretty severe economic contraction causing last quarter GDP to fall by 3.2% after another contraction of 0.5% the quarter before

Most of the lost economic output is coming from businesses in Central Commerical areas forced to close on multiple occasions during these protest events

The other major loss is coming from reduced tourism as travellers avoid the undtable area. Hotels in particular are feeling that pinch. Some that are usually 100% full are only 60% to 70% full now

Frequent blocked roads also often delay the transportation of consumer goods

Same recession is happening in Lebanon now and none of the protests or people care. Most of these people have nothing to lose anyway, and the economy can always recover. If you want a revolution, these things are expected to happen.

The problem is that in a lot of major protests like the Hong kong ones, most people are pacific but there's always a minority of violent persons that can make things worse. Also, sometimes the police has a really bad behavior with the protesters even the pacifics ones and this is what leads to general chaos. This is what happened in France a year ago, and is happening in Chile and Honk Kong now.

The privilege.

They are fighting what we all know an impossible fight and u’re sitting at home comfortably condemning some of them for taking too far??? Do you know the chinese police are dropping any pretense and just shooting live ammunition as of yesterday?

**** it don’t even respond back- I can’t handle this much ignorance.

Having a slightly different opinion is ignorance now?

to me ignorance is the extreme SJW culture on the rise that is getting so agressive and self-righteous these days that if u dare say something they dont agree with u get dragged to no end. Theres no room anymore for exchange of ideas or philosophy.

i dont like the idea of “ends justify the means”. That kind od attitude i think is literally just 1 notch down from terrorism. They can justify their actions too for what their fighting for

thays how i see it. Im so sorry that i have an opinion that isnt the same as urs... God forbid

if u cant handle leaving ur different view point in a civilized manner withoutinsults then perhaps ur just not mature enough to handle political or social discussions

to me ur reaction is actually beyond obnoxious.
