Yes- some Americans are clueless and borderline dumb. Just like people in every country. What you are seeing is called “hype”- in the media. These videos go viral, and then people start making ignorant generalizations about whole groups of people. Be careful not to do that. Most Popeye’s are not having this problem. People are going, getting their sandwiches and leaving with no incident. Just like any other restaurant. These are just viral videos of a few incidents. Not all black Americans are violent. Sigh, I know I know, being from a country that people believe it's all guns and narcos I know how it feels to be reduced to something that it's not. I guess it comes from (I don't live in the US obviously) being exposed to just videos of people acting radical for meaningless things that's the image I get. From Black Fridays videos where people get literally walked on, people doing stupid harmful jokes, etc. Even then, I don't think people, from all over the world, should act this animal for anything. It's a freaking sandwich, I won't be yelling or punching people even if they say it's gonna make me loose weight and be all fit and slim. I'm talking in a broader sense now, but it seems each year people get crazier and crazier, violent, and almost as if they don't seem to have a mind, to rationalize things. Waited less than ten minutes in line and got my sandwich immediately—and this was at 1pm! All these people are absolutely insane though: so unnecessary for a damn sandwich! To be more blunt (everything you said is right on the money) These videos get passed around racist sites calling Black people monkeys and these are apes fighting. We don’t know how stressed these people are waiting in long lines. If anything, the most common racist stereotype of “black people sure love fried chicken” is spread even further with elaboration that “look at these apes fighting over chicken” Yes this is shocking but America is huge.
