You don't want to disrespect your friend by participating in a series based on your friend's brother assassination... I would have felt better about it if the Versace family did approve of it but what they did say was... "The Versace family has neither authorised nor had any involvement whatsoever in the forthcoming TV series about the death of Mr. Gianni Versace. Since Versace did not authorise the book on which it is partly based, nor has it taken part in the writing of the screenplay, this TV series should only be considered as a work of fiction."
