Bernie Sanders leads in New Hampshire Polls

I want Bernie to succeed, but the media isn't downplaying anything...there's just no story. He's been consistent in polling since May. He's made up some ground...but hasn't broken through to new levels of support yet. Warren had a quick, substantial rise and it's gone down a bit with Biden taking back a lead and buttigieg making modest gains for a second, which is what the media narrative is. Which is...correct. If you are going to complain about media bias until they bend the truth to what you want it to be, that's a problem with me. It really bothers me.

If you genuinely believe the media isn't downplaying Sanders' successes or hasn't disproportionately given favorable coverage to Warren, Buttigieg or Klobuchar, you haven't been paying attention or you just don't want to see it.

Look at the headlines coming out of this new NH poll:

The polling you've just cited indicates a national race that is much tighter than its been in months, with Sanders on the rise and Warren and Biden losing ground and yet the persistent media narrative has been that there are only two major candidates in the race. Sanders has been repeatedly asked to drop out (despite the polling) by media pundits attempting to make the case that Warren and Sanders are identical candidates (totally untrue) and that he should therefore simply throw in his lot with her to take down Biden. That never happened to Warren a couple of months ago before she had her bump. When AOC and the other members of the squad endorsed Sanders, media pundits rushed to claim that endorsements don't actually matter and that this didn't mean anything. AOC was literally asked why she'd "support an old white man" on GMA, in the only major, in-depth television spot covering that endorsement rally. If she'd endorsed Warren, you know that it would've received wall-to-wall coverage and Sanders would've been hounded to drop out even moreso than he already has been. The contempt is clear if you're paying attention.

When Warren has a good poll, she's heralded as the new bright and shining star with a path to victory. When Sanders has a good poll, they either ignore it entirely or work to spin it in favor of another candidate. "Buttigieg in 4th, but a strong 4th" - I mean, that's just totally indefensible. It's been like this since Sanders announced his candidacy. Downplaying or outright ignoring his successes, heralding more moderate candidates like Warren, Buttigieg and Klobuchar and delivering puff-pieces like Warren's interview with her husband.

I'm not asking for the media to relentlessly cover Sanders in a positive light, nor am I asking them to invent data that serves my interests. I want them to stop attempting to coronate or elevate more moderate candidates and to treat him fairly. You have to know that that hasn't happened so far.

I find it absolutely hilarious that when there’s a poll with Bernie leading the following happens:

1. No one cares enough to really post

2. Everyone who does either says it’s too early or dismisses the data.

When Warren is the one leading in a poll, everyone and their mother loses their **** and tells me that supporting Bernie is equal to voting for Trump because he has no chance to win.

Very interesting standards Gagadaily.

Lol, we have more threads here about Bernie’s polls than any other. Warren rarely gets one and Biden practically gets ignored, although he has been leading for months. There is obviously a VERY vocal and active group of Bernie supporters here at GGD. That victim mentality doesn’t work here.

I agree. The media has reported on the New Hampshire poll yesterday, just like they reported on the Iowa poll last week. They aren’t spending too much time on any candidate, or poll, tbh. The impeachment is taking up all the oxygen in the room right now...as it really should. This is a rare and historical event in our country. It’s going to get all the media attention.

Yep

Fight till the end

Polls can make people comfortable too much

But CNN's coverage is really funny they try  to leave out how Bernie is leading not to upset the 1%.

This is why i dont like polls they should be banned

it can affect who ppl vote for because of anticipation that maybe who they prefer is a lost cause for example

wed get more accurate democracy without these media polls influencing things
