TI: Iggy “tarnished” my legacy

The way he talks of Iggy and discredits the success of Fancy and her hand in the writing process is some misogynistic bs.

His entire legacy is a stain, he did that. When you go to bed at night, you lay there and you take responsibility for yourself, because nobody's going to take responsibility for you.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

He also said something about how it's going to take years and lots of better acts being signed to undo what she did to his career. He stood up for her so much at the beginning but then when she went downhill, he dropped her and now speaks of her like this. No loyalty. She only has the longest-serving #1 hip hop song for a female of all time. She also pulled out a few more lowkey hits and even Kream, which barely scraped the Billboard 100, managed to sell over 1 million copies and its video is a massive hit in views and likes. Hardly an impossible to remove stain on your legacy. Let's be real, Iggy didn't even have the support of many whites either, her low album and single sales are proof of that. Ironically, her current material is appealing more to black audiences and its her lowest selling work to date (shame, as it's her best yet). So, it's not like appealing to black audiences would have got her that much more back in the day. Come to think of it, I've seen whites be the harshest critics of her, she was doomed to be a one hit wonder from the beginning with her whole set-up. I feel so sorry for her that everyone just keeps bashing her, even when she's no longer a threat. She's a sweetheart and has never started beefs and just quietly releasing music for her fans now. Leave the girl alone.

She doesn’t seem to be this way today, but this is very believable. The problem is she didn’t understand American rap culture. If you’re going to attempt to be a hip hop artist, you can’t bypass the process of earning respect. Especially when you’re a Australian woman who has made past racist comments on twitter. She had a lot working against her and didn’t do enough to convince people that she had just as much working for her. It got to a point where artists who didn’t even have a problem with her, couldn’t work with her simply because of her embarrassing reputation.
