while all the same redundant (I saw Aladdin and Lion King both with a sense of "might as well watch the animated")

I would be curious to see Kovu as a live action CG animated lion  :ally:

Simba did not made me feel anything but Kovu is........hot...........for a lion :lmao:

REALITY

Y'all are crying over this while meanwhile The Lion King is the 2nd top grossing movie of this year. Personally, I liked the remake. Was it as good as the original? Of course not, but I didn't think it was a "childhood ruining experience" like most people thought.

As long as people keep going out seeing these kinds of movies and remakes, they're going to continue to make them. If y'all don't want them, don't see them.

It’s not a matter of ruining things, the originals are there and always will be, it’s a matter of originality, I miss new stories, it feels like lately every movie is a sequel or a prequel or a remake or a reboot :madge:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

To be honest, I love the Disney classics so much but none of the remakes have been that great.

Lion King was so unnecessary, just the animated version in CGI form. Aladdin was rough in the beginning... Will Smith actually made it more enjoyable for me and in the end it was alright. Beauty & The Beast was so forgettable... I think I was actually bored in some parts. Jungle Book I tried watching on Netflix many times and always fell asleep. Disney is still getting all my coins though :vegas:

Anyway, the point I want to make is that if they do make a LK2, then I’d hope they would stray away from making an exact replica of one of the animated ones. I just want something fresh(er) and not a rehash.

Still excited for The Little Mermaid! The cast is diverse so it seems like they’re gonna make some changes to the story.

The problem is that sadly original stuff just doesn't do as well as nostalgia. There's a brand new Disney/Pixar animated movie called Onward  that tells a completely original story, yet no one's really  talking about it. If people did, then there wouldn't necessarily be a need to have constant remakes.
