Breaking her hip and not taking care of herself by cancelling the BTW tour created the constant physical pain.

True, and fame is what led her to this.

She is insane.

Fun fact: I was standing near her famous partner in crime, Raffaele Sollecito (who was also deeply involved in the murder) at a Marilyn Manson concert in Florence in 2015

Like I'm usually defending the "woke" crowd on most things. This one... :rip:

Sometimes people are just looking to hate to get internet woke points.

She's a songwriter ffs

Same... I hate using the terms cancel culture, SJW, snow flakes, sensitive at times because horrible people use it to make fun of those of us who are liberal or left. But...there is a time where people are overly sensitive and this is one of those cases. At worst, it's mildly tone deaf—but it's a mildly tone deaf metaphor that people use all the time. X is a prison, love is a prison, etc.

Kind of reminds me of how Kelly Ripa's more tone deaf "my son is experiencing poverty" got her dragged for filth. People were acting like she said "I love Donald Trump and kicking puppies." Kelly's bit was dumb, but not worth multiple articles and viral tweets. I will say I think Gag's tweet wouldn't have been a "thing" if Amanda hadn't chimed in, and the only people really mad are...looking to get mad or already dislike Gag's. Normal people might roll their eyes and forget it about it the next second.

Aww you poor millionaire, famous caucasian — love her but this is just insensitive.

At worst, it's mildly tone deaf. I've read interviews where celebrities b*tch far worse about fame instead of a simple metaphorical tweet. H*ll, are we not allowed to say "love is  a prison" anymore, either, or use prison as any sort of metaphor? People are acting like it's a literal thing, instead of just a metaphor. I've called Gaga out for sh*t before, but the level of outrage this tweet garnered from some is...weird. I get a bit of mild  snark, but holy overreaction.

Lmaooo, let’s say “Love is like a prison” — that is a metaphor.

Fame being compared to a prison are two conflicting things. You’re comparing the world of glamour to a place where some innocent people are being detained, hurt or even killed.

It’s not like she was forced into fame like people who are jailed because of their skin color or poverty.

It's...still a metaphor though. School is a prison, love is a prison, DMV is a prison, fame is a prison, the 405 (a freeway) is a prison, paperwork is torture, the dentist is torture —all metaphors with extremely weak connections (and often conflicting). No one means the DMV is literally the same as being locked up in horrendous conditions, or even comes close to it, or that doing paperwork is anywhere near the same level as pain as torture. Also, the horrible tabloid coverage—from fame—partially contributed to poor Amy Winehouse's untimely death.

It's a hyperbolic one and a bit tone deaf, to be sure, but again....people often make those wild comparisons. And I get some mild snark and jokes, I don't get long rants full of prison facts and acting like it was some super offensive comment as some did.  But we'll have to agree to disagree.

I mean. Yeah, obviously Gaga wasn't being literal, but it's not hard to see why it's a sensitive topic for Amanda.
