as for katy, I feel like it's not just about the music anymore, people can go "yeah, I like the new katy song, but I still prefer the old katy" so they just don't really support her new stuff

they already did a huge payola with NRO and the song only managed to chart for 13 weeks selling 100k downloads. Small talk was added in #1 on TTH and in all big pop playlists  with vertical video and still flopped

This. I mean this no promo excuse is getting tiring. Her songs are receiving heavy airplay and huge support from streaming services and still flop. Shallow on the other hand had minimal airplay at first and still became a hit

Yes and shallow placed at #2 on TTH with 0  radio audience managed to chart at Hot 100's top #5.

 

Without any playlist debuted at #28 and ASIB wasn't even out in theaters  for the first week charting.

This one was actually good, I blame it on the lack of promotion, which I really don’t understand why this keeps happening. I have a feeling no one outside of the pop music stans knows she even released something since “Never Really Over”
