croboy 1,212
I'm really mixed on this. I've heard that the key holder of the swiss show waited for 3 days and didn't shower at all. Plus at the second show a guy was in front of me who waited during the first concert, so he was waiting for almost 24 hours. He smelled really bad. I can get over this. My problem is this: All these guys that I've seen there, that were there for one night or 2 or 3 were not fit at all! Their bodies were weak, their eyes looked red, they were shaking and very nervous. Look I was there from 7 a.m. and had lot of fun, but this is it. I wouldn't sleep there etc. I love Gaga but it's not worth it. Health should come first. The guy infrot of me didn't enjoy the show. he was so focused on getting picked to get backstage and when he didn't, he cried and couldn't enjoy it anyway. What comes first: Enjoying a fuc*king great show or meeting her for 1 minute? I would love to meet her too but if she is standing in front of me for 2.5 hours I'd rather look at her and sing and dance along!
abercrombiescruffy 0
I going to say my piece and leave before I sucked into this again Just cause you waited does not makes you a bigger fan than those who did not, necessarily Some people can get out of their commitments; others can't Now those who could get out, it does shows commitment....think survior LOL, to give up whatever and tough it out To an extent it is unsafe, about as unsafe it is to walk in a group at night, we all take risks it is the extent of it... you have a lot of other people there is security and it is lit to an extent. In terms of smell, yes you may not be able to shower for a few days but not nescessarly you will smell, maybe you can get away to shower for a bit would be possible IDK The rule is nice if it were implemented so that people are not able and therefore don't have to tough it out... though it makes it harder like who gets first?!? Sure there are other people dying to have your job..or your educaiton... but through luck... people have been born into the world where they can afford to go to movies and got to concerts...and wait in line for this stuff Awesome example Every year the Much Music Video Awards in Toronto, Canada happens and people wait days in advance first to get wrist band then again a few weeks later to get a spot at the event People have been know to wait for sooooo long I waited once for 3 days for Gaga 2009 Uhhh it is pretty cool it happens every years so they have prep for it gates, security and portapoddies I think I wrote out everything... I wanted to say....

TheQueen 18
Again, I camped for 11 days and showered every single day. If you don't shower then you really shouldn't camp out. We were safe, I had organised with the promoters to have security look after us (we weren't on their property but they needed where we were to be safe as the concert could be called off if it was blocked etc under their "planning permission" for the concert) and they obliged so we had 24/7 security. The day of the concert numbers don't matter and nobody cares so it's self-policed and I feel sorry for the fans that think camping guarantees them a good spot because once 8am comes, anyone can skip you to get into the official line. However there's no skipping in the official line.

burqaswagg 0
3 simple words: GET. A. LIFE. I have a life. I have a job, I go to college and I have a great social life. That social life was enhanced by the amazing people I met whilst camping, all of which I'm meeting with very soon.
burqaswagg 0
Firstly, why has this come to a 'bigger fan' competition? No one here said that because we camped for longer that we're bigger fans. Secondly, who cares that the most you'd camp for is 1 day? I'm not you. Just because you wouldn't do it doesn't mean it's the worst thing in the world. How is it unfair? If anything, it's fair that I get the key, get front row then meet her because I waited the longest. Just because you can't do it doesn't mean I can't. I couldn't camp for the Monster Ball and I couldn't go to the Fame Ball but that doesn't mean I b---hed about everyone that did. This is why I hate this fanbase. You do nothing but judge. As a complete outside POV from this whole entire conversation, I have to interrupt here: the people "complaing" on this topic aren't judging or saying that those who wait for days/weeks are bad people, or unheigenic or WHATEVER. They are simply stating the fact that it just seems to get a little too much when suddenly people are taking off time from their jobs and school just to wait outside of a building to have the chance at meeting Gaga. Taking time off of your job for even just a couple days isn't something everyone can afford, and that's where it starts to get a little unfair. I have tremendous amounts of respect for the people that wait multiple days, but at the same time I don't think it should be done...because then it becomes more than just "I waited the longest so I deserve it". Suddenly people start thinking "well I gotta wait longer than they did" and suddenly people are willing to wait a ridiculous amount of time. Camping for 3 weeks for the show in LA??? The Staples Center (where the show will be) is NOT in a good part of LA and that person will not be safe waiting...and that is where this whole key-thing ends up completely blown out of proportion. dfghuer5 163
I completely understand it, and there is nothing the monster pit security people can do about it, aparently your not allowed to line up/camp outside the arena until 6am on the day of the show so they just camp out somewhere near the arena and run for it when its 6am. I would love to do that, but my mum wouldnt let me :( and imo it would be really fun to go and camp in a group so one person goes out each night to get dinner while the others stay behind and stuff like that

Pretty much all I can say is An 8 am rule would be a relatively sensible cutoff and this camping behavior skirts it.
wonry 3
They must be more obsessed than others. Some have been devoted to Gaga for 5 entire years... you do crazy things when you are devoted to someone, and you think that there might be a slight chance that you can meet her. I would do that. Maybe not for nine days, but you get my point. Don't judge them. If they want to do it, let them do it. They aren't harming anyone are they?
Vanilla 660
We take time off work, make arrangements and sacrifices to meet Gaga. I think the real question is... why does it bother you? I think the fact that people who can take that time off or camp out for so long, assume that everyone who doesn't is 'not as big of a fan as I' and sort of 'better' annoys people I won't die, but I can't live without you

I don't work and university didn't start back for me until 2 weeks after the concert, so I didn't take any time off and it was just opportunity. Just because someone can't camp 11 days doesn't mean that I shouldn't camp or that it's unfair. Anyone is eligible to camp and get the key, thus an equal opportunity is presented. If you have an external factor preventing you from getting the key, it doesn't mean it is unfair, it simply means luck is not on your side.
