Scheer is never getting my vote, especially with his platforms, his attacks, and his friendship with Doug Ford. The party isn't entirely bad, but boy, I don't like their leader.

Yeah. Thats how i feel too. The party isnt that bad but i dont like the leaders (Ford or Sheer)

 

but its ok BQ and Peoples for the foreseable future will not only never get elected but will also get too few seats to have an impact

 

Its obviously between the Liberals and Conservatives as usual as the NDP sometimes win in some Provinces but never seem to win Federally

 

But sometimes they win enough seats to hold considerable influence as was the case this last election. Curious to see what happens as they are expected to loose seats

 

i dont mind cuz i dont support most of the NDP platform right now

 

Ideally i want Trudeau and Liberals to win with minority government and Conservatives with enough seats to exert strong influence as a party

 

my support is somewhere half way between the liberals and conservatives this time around but a little more to the liberals because the Conservatives proposed a few things i dont agree with including sports tax credits, tax removal on heating bills and the 30 year amortizations for mortgages and the end of the stress test

It's like they follow the most populist ideas, usually the right-wing, while knowing that it's a bad idea, but then when the bad things actually happening, they vote for the left.

It's still pretty stigmatic to vote for the left, crazy.

I think most people don't even understand how taxes works, they just vote for the one that gives them more..

Somehow they never really teach you a bit of economy in school, how things are working, what is a tax.. so what happens that many voters just don't really vote with a good knowledge, but with what sounds the best and it's wrong..

 

Agreed school should teach basic economics and politics. 80% of ppl dont have a clue how it truly works

 

theres so many myths about the economy that ppl believe and i wanna tear my hair out that ppl just dont get certain concepts

 

anyway yeah in my opinion, right wing or left isnt a simple answer. Theres too many variables at play to say one form is better than the other. Depends on planning and execution

As for the Bloc they have special interests and is biased with Quebec. Would not trust them Federally to put Canada as a whole as a priority over their Quebec sovereignty agendas

honestly i was really torn in this election. I dont really trust any of the candidates. Scheer seems a bit too buttoned up for my taste, and I find Trudeau too wishy-washy to really trust his views/plans on the issues...

they are both with very simmilar ideologies only difference is the Green party is even more extreme

 

even for this election so much of their platform is the same stuff only the Green party more extreme

 

- both wanna raise Corporate taxes but the NDP want a 3% hike while Greens want 6%

 

- both oppose oil sands development and pipelines but the greens even more strongly (the party leader Elizabeth May even got arrested for an illegal protest)

- both want a huge number if construction of affordable housing

- both want to raise top income bracket but the Green party even more 

 

The Green Party is basically the NDP on steroids

i dont like NDPs anti business economics, i dont like Sheer as a leader and im no fan of Trudeaus tendency to try to please everyone and not take real action half the times

 

i usually support the conservatives but honestly theres 3 major things they are campaigning for i disagree with so... im reluctantly leaning towards the Liberals again

BC has gone to **** with the NDPs (I blame them for Vancouver having a the highest gas prices in the Western Hemisphere), Quebec (where i go to school) is full of religious whack jobs running the show, Trudeau wants to be beloved but its costing him making a real impact, Scheer seems like he may be bad for the climate, etc. 

Hoping 2023 will have better options. This is the first election where I can vote and I'm so disappointed.

Ughhh John Horgan. Hes the reason transmountain has been on the fritz. Dont get me wrong we need to lower emissions but stopping pipelines and forcing our oil to be sold for huge discounts only benefits US refinaries not the environment 

 

my issue with the conservatives this term is:

 

- sports tax credits. While it may be nice, with the budget being tight and all the serious things we need to take care of, goodie bag promisses like this shouldnt be a priority

 

- heating bills tax removal... honestly we can help poor people in other ways or cut the sales tax elsewhere to save people just as much overall. We so not need to make consuming hydro cheaper. That wont help global warming if people splurge on more electricity because its cheaper

 

- stress test removal and re-introduction of 30 year mortgages... this wont help affordability because it will simply make it possible for people to bid housing prices higher and heat up the market further. The issue is lack of supply. Making lending standards more loose will only make prices more rediculous

 

Those are 3 campaign promises the conservatives made i dont agree with

 

i do like their idea to trim the bottom income tax bracket a smidge and also the public transit tax credit tho

Like. You're a Canadian, like it or not.  Maybe instead of spending so much energy trying to separate, why don't you work to strengthen your precious French culture outside of Quebec?

At the Provincial level ok. Regardless of whether or not we agree with the separatist movement, if they feel that way they have the right to demonstrate it and have a party that represents those who feel that way and if they win, they can try to push for seperation if they wish

 

But Nationally/Federally???? Why have a party who focuses on Quebec rule Canada? Would they even give a sh*t????

 

like i dont get how u can possibly have a party like this exist at the Federal level it makes no sense

 

it was probably a concession made at some point to make Quebecers feel like they were given a voice and werent told to shut up and maybe for that they allowed the formation of this party

 

but it doesnt make sense... even tho we know theyd never win, hypathetically if they did, they only care about Quebec

 

I unfortunately didnt get to see the debates. But if i heard “Quebec and the Provinces” that too would rub me the wrong way
