As far as I've seen, he's always defended it, saying it was about treating men and women as equals and it was just a fun song that didn't actually depict any of the performers real lives, even that it was a joke about degrading songs and 3 married men were the ideal ones to make fun of that kinda thing. And Pharrell said the same stuff back in the day too. I want to know why T.I. basically got off lightly, however. Very few people bring this up. Some even forget that he's even on this song. It's not every day that the rap verse in a problematic song doesn't get mentioned.
