Economy 19,872 Report Posted October 13 (edited) https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5308758 Alberta NDP Leader Rachael Notley who was the Premier of Alberta until losing elections last year to the Conservatives admited she may not support her own party at the Federal Elections Alberta being Canadas most Conservative Province means that the “Left Wing” NDP is more like a Centre Wing party (like Trudeau’s Liberals) by the rest of Canadas standards More importantly the Federal NDP party does not support pipelines or Canadas oil industry, something even the most progressive left wing parties in Alberta do Notley admits shes not convinced her parties Federal counterparts are the best for the Country because of their opposition to Albertas Oil Sands Edited October 13 by Economy Quote Share
 Facebook Twitter
Economy 19,872 Report Posted October 13 The NDP are also the party in power in British Columbia that have blocked the pipeline All 3 major parties in Alberta want Until last year both Alberta AND British Columbia were led by the NDP and they even went into a mini trade war because of the Oil Industry issues Albertas NDP dont seem to get along with any of the NDP parties anywhere else whether other Provinces or Federal @Morphine Prince @Born To Slay @Luc Does this kind of thing happen in your Countries too? i can imagine in the US for example in red states maybe democrats being too right winged to be compatible for democrats in blue states Quote Share
 Facebook Twitter
ltlmnstr 1,948 Report Posted October 13 An Illinois Democrat Representative Dan Lipinski doesn’t support abortion and stem cell research. So many democrats are trying to oust him. (Imo he should be gone) The House of Representatives is up for election every two years. All 435 members. Quote Share
 Facebook Twitter

Such as Joe Manchin from West Virginia. Yeah. The spectrum is big and some individuals are so far into the spectrum they end up being closer to another party than their own But in this case Alberta is a super Conservative Right Winged Province... So their version of Left Wing Politics is Centre Wing at best vs the rest of Canada so its not surprising the left wing NDP clash with the Federal NDP and other Provincial NDP In fact id say Rachael Notley and the NDP in Alberta are still more right winged than Justin Trudeau and his Liberals who are supposed to be Centre Wing In Alberta they had the Conservatives win for 40 years straight until the NDP managed to win 1 term last time. They ended their 10% flat tax regime and introduced the idea of higher incomes having a slightly higher bracket and that shook so many people there. And the top bracket isnt even that much higher than the bottom bracket. I gotta double check but i think its 10% for almost everyone and 11.5% for very high incomes Edited October 13 by Economy Quote Share
 Facebook Twitter
