Franch Toast 25,914
For those of you who've been to Vegas and watched After Dark in person, can you tell me more about the show? Other than jazz, what kind of performances are there? I'm asking because I'm going to Vegas with my sisters and brother-in-law in December to see Enigma and Jazz & Piano, and right now, one of my sisters and I have tickets to After Dark on the 29th. Now that my other sister and her husband are joining us on the trip (they only decided to come a few weeks ago), they want to know more about After Dark before they decide whether they want to buy tickets. Also, I've closely been monitoring Brian Newman's page to see whether his New Year's Eve show will open up to the public–if they do go on sale, I want to try and score tickets to the show after J&P, as I think there's a good chance of LG showing up (no idea if she will stop by the post-Enigma shows or the shows on nights when she doesn't have a show, but it's hard to imagine her not ringing in the new year with her good friends in an intimate space, esp. since she likely won't finish with J&P meet and greets until 10:30 or so), and I'm thinking it might be an extra special show because of the holiday (especially since thus far, it's not open to us commoners). One of my sisters is whining about how she doesn't want to be stuck at Brian's show at midnight, and how she doesn't want to be forced to watch another jazz show right after J&P, so I'm trying to gather up ammunition to make my case of why it's worth going to After Dark, other than the possibility of an LG sighting. Please help me out so I can plead my case. Thank you! She/Her/Hers
Schwerk 6,996
I haven't been yet, but knowing Brian it will be an oldschool jazz show with showgirls. His wife Angie will be joining them this time and she's an amazing burlesque performer, so that's something to look forward to, but I guess it's not for everybody. I can imagine if you don't care much for jazz this is quite a commitment, also financially. Also there's very limited interaction with Gaga, if at all and if she even shows up on NYE. This is why I usually don't go to Gaga shows etc with non Gaga stans. I hate dilemmas like these. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

Well, regardless, I'll be going on the 29th (and who knows whether LG will show up because she doesn't have a show that night; but we didn't want to go after Enigma in our Enigma outfits because it's the wrong kind of clothing); but I have to admit, the thought of possibly being able to be in such a small venue with LG ringing in the New Year is tempting. Who knows though if NYE tickets will even open up to the GP. At least I get to see her at J&P that night! She/Her/Hers
Renie 7,909
On his Twitter he said that if/when tickets go on sale for that date he will announce in advance! If I could get tickets to that date I probably would and hope she’d be there! I think there’s usually a better chance of her showing up after j and p! But either way I’d be excited about seeing brian! I know his show has a variety of performers. Scroll through his insta and check out the pages of the people tagged in his group photos from previous Vegas shows. That’ll give you an idea of what acts to expect! SwissMonster 29,012
I went to afterdark with my mom and loved it (The day before Gaga went Yes I had a small breakdown ) besides the Jazz (wich obviously is the main thing) he also brings special guests to his show (one for each part, cause there is a little break in between). In my case it was a Burlesque Show and a singer from New York (I sadly forgot the name). Honestly I would go again, the athmosphere in the Nomad Restaurant is so special and Brian really takes his time to also come to each table to have a quick small talk. He also likes to talk during his show and between songs wich gives it a cozy vibe. I really loved it and can only recomend you his show! Also if you book a table in advance you can eat there to (up to 9pm if I remember well) after they serve drinks and snacks. Funfact, I got the luck that we got our show for free cause we originally booked a table before his show was announced. So they said we can come for free SwissMonster®️ - Creating controversy since 1999

I'm of the same mindset as you: if I can get tickets on that date, I would go! I agree that she's likelier to show up at his shows after J&P because she's already in a jazz mood and her makeup is appropriate for it––I feel like it would take more time to get her out of the Enigma makeup and ready for Brian's show, and if it's a day where she doesn't have any show, Sarah and Freddie might have the day off, and she might not want to hang around the Park MGM because it feels like "work". Plus, I feel like she's kind of limited as to what she can do on NYE in Vegas unless she wants to be back at the MGM Mansion or in a VIP room of some club. I'm assuming Angie will be at the Nomad so she can be with Brian on NYE, and I imagine LG would want to be with her friends and family at midnight on NYE, so I can envision them all hanging out together at Brian's show. And the fact that there's a show listed but it's currently "off sale" makes me think it's more like a private party for Brian's friends and maybe some MGM VIPs & celebrities. Maybe it will never open up to the public, but if it does, I imagine it would be an unforgettable night. And yet, the silly people accompanying me to Vegas would rather join crowds of drunken people standing around outside listening to various bands. Well, anyway, I guess if those tickets ever *do* go on sale, I will just buy 4 of them if possible, and then if my companions really don't want to go, I can resell them. I mean honestly, can you imagine any better way to ring in 2020 than to be in a small space with Gaga, even if she's not talking to you? I can't! jb135 8
I have tickets to go after J&P on the 26th. Can anyone give any insight into when to line up/best place to sit, etc? (I'll be in tier 1)

(I'll be in tier 1) Brian's show is at the NOMAD Restaurant instead of NOMAD Bar (right across the restaurant), when you leave the Jazz show, simply just walk through the casino and you'll see the " NOMAD restaurant" logo. People will be lining up in front of the restaurant. Brian is a part of Gaga's Jazz show, so don't be worried if it's already 11PM when Gaga finished her Jazz show, Brian won't perform until around 12AM. The restaurant is small, when you enter, they will give you a plastic wristband and someone will lead you to your seat. I got tier 3 and its the only part without chairs, but I was kinda lucky, they offer me a place to sit at tier 2. But Gaga didn't attend after her own show

I called Nomad. According to the woman with whom I spoke, right now, MGM is reserving the show for MGM VIP players. Lower-tier M-Life members may receive an email invitation to purchase tickets at a later time. It's not clear whether the show will be open to the general public. The decision is MGM's, not Brian's. I also asked if Nomad or Park MGM would have any sort of New Year's Eve Party, and as of now, nothing is listed. She/Her/Hers
