Economy

https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/gender-wage-gap-narrows-to-13-3-in-2018-statscan-1.1327689

newly released 2018 statistics show the gender wage gap has fallen to the lowest ever but still remains stubbornly in the double digits at 13.3%

Besides the usual factors of attention such as women being  more likely to take parental leave than their male counterparts after birth of a child, and more women settling for part-time positions once in a relationship...

Another major factor now being looked at is contruction. Canada continues to have a rapidly growing population and lots of contruction remains needed invoking continued labor shortages in all types of construction and skilled trades

these high paying jobs usually above $30/h continue to be a field women continue to avoid despite modern technology making physical strength less of a factor for these jobs
