Economy 52,859 Posted October 7, 2019 Share Posted October 7, 2019 https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/gender-wage-gap-narrows-to-13-3-in-2018-statscan-1.1327689 newly released 2018 statistics show the gender wage gap has fallen to the lowest ever but still remains stubbornly in the double digits at 13.3% Besides the usual factors of attention such as women being more likely to take parental leave than their male counterparts after birth of a child, and more women settling for part-time positions once in a relationship... Another major factor now being looked at is contruction. Canada continues to have a rapidly growing population and lots of contruction remains needed invoking continued labor shortages in all types of construction and skilled trades these high paying jobs usually above $30/h continue to be a field women continue to avoid despite modern technology making physical strength less of a factor for these jobs Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
