No, I just know that Gaga is a well educated woman. Also she wrote songs about European queens before. The most obvious one would be Princess Die.

But also why is she bloody

And why isn't she going to cry for the person who dies

And this: We are not just art for Michelangelo

To carve He can't rewrite the agro of my furied heart.

I'll wait on mountain tops in Paris cold
J'veux pas mourir toute seule

Please explain how I'm supposed to just somehow understand what any of this means because I just don't get it

Gaga's songs hardly ever have one single meaning. Bloody Mary is one of Gaga's most mystical songs (if not the most), that's why it's so hard to decipher.

it's okay if you don't get it, even after a handful of people tried to explain it to you in a very easy way. Not everyone can understand music and lyrics. There's always some who will never get it...

Michelangelo carved a sculpture of Jesus and his mother (who's also called Mary btw :selena:), it's called Pietà. Even though he was famous by his meticulous art skills, he would be never able to express the real anger she must had felt when Jesus died.

She (Lady Gaga) won't cry because she has to be strong and move on because she accepts she can't change the fate of others, so she will let him/them go in order to stay living her life and dreams

"When you're gone I'll still be bloody Mary" meaning she will always be damaged by the loss of the ones she has loved

you are a literal boss oh my god

I HAD NO IDEA of any of that now this song makes so much more sense. so she's (mary) literally experiencing an array of emotions throughout the entire song

I'll wait on mountain tops in Paris cold
J'veux pas mourir toute seule [French for: "I don't want to die alone"]

also ties into that feeling of like intense inner guilt almost?

okay like that's so cute i love u to death ur literally a genius!!

Mary Magdalene is also carved in the Pietà Bandini. And yeah, Gaga basically says that no work of art could translate the furor of losing Jesus.

As for the Paris part it has always been the most mysterious part about that song. The "mountain tops in Paris" sounds like the Sacré-cœur to me but there is no reference to Mary Magdalene in that church. However, a famous sculpture of Mary Magdalene is kept at the Louvre so that may be why.

As for the "J'veux pas mourir toute seule" it means "I don't want to die alone". Basically she's scared of what her life will be without Jesus by her side. She's lost and alone.

No, no. I'm not a boss or genius. As many others have said in this thread, lyrics might have many interpretations. I believe this one I told you is the closest to the commentaries Gaga has made about the song herself. Bloody Mary has always been in my ultimate top10 Gaga songs and I have loved it ever since May 2011.
