Babel 41,369
Of course the people that does nothing for the planet are the ones criticizing her for at least trying. Why I’m not surprised maybe yell at your favorite popstar for not even addressing the issue and then you can come back at Billie.
GagaStefi 1,231
there are always people who are gonna complain every time someone does something good. Anyways, Shawn mendes did this on his tour with Reverb so I’m glad other big names are doing the same!

And how much smoke will they use during the concert? What will the materials used be made of? That's a way bigger impact than straws but the intention is very good. 1 hour ago, Kimblue said: I know that what I was thinking and laughed when I clicked. 57 minutes ago, Lona Delery said: cuz plastic straws, which only contribute 0.022% of all plastic in our oceans, are our biggest enemy thats not gonna do anything, but you go girl. it seems very hypocritical tho, cuz all the CO2 shes gonna put out by flying, using tour busses and trucks etc is a much bigger problem At least she’s doing something instead of nothing she’s gonna tour regardless . What do you think she’s gonna walk to every city? Row a boat to other countries ?? Come on u guys . ♥ Kindness Police.

She said they’re going over logistics for everything, so there could be way more than just the straws and water bottles (which are still things to be applauded for implementing) Yea it’s def better than absolutely nothing, happy she’s doing that But everyone needs to address the systems that are killing our earth (the meat industry for example), not lose our focus on straws. Fossil fuel industry, meat industry, all other earth-murdering industries want us to think we are the problem of climate change and we should change ourselves, but really they are the murderers. A great start

Or maybe stop selling fast fashion merchandise at your concerts? Or have environmental experts at some booths to educate people about these issues. Way bigger impact than straws... Yikes. She’s doing something and that’s better than nothing. Why do you have to complain about that? you’d rather her just do nothing at all if what she does do doesn’t completely solve the issue? ♥ Kindness Police. Sorry if I sounded angry - I am angry at the industries killing this earth and it translated to my comment. I am happy she’s doing something and hopefully starting a movement that others will follow. great start but got a long way to go

Y'all are like if you don't live in a tree and aren't vegan, don't comment. Every little bit helps. Simply carrying a metal straw and a metal coffee cup/flask/drinking bottle, helps a lot in the long run. Not eating meat once a week helps. Carrying a fabric bag instead of getting packets and bags each time you go the store helps. Every little bit helps. The awareness she is creating by doing this will have an enormous impact on the hundreds of thousands that will probably come to the tour. Plus the influence this will have on other artists further tours. Every artist should of started doing this years ago. It's actually sad that a teenager needs to teach the industry. Spoiler I'm not even a fan before some tries. I've only ever heard once song from her but will now give her album a listen. We going to boo

I'm not even a fan of hers but every time someone tries to do something good someone is always ruining the party I think it's also important to note that arenas usually don't provide straws or covered bottles/cups for safety reasons anyway. Any type of liquids are also usually not permitted into arenas. At least with my experience. So the initiative, while nice, is a bit invalid due to to constraints of the venues. But maybe she'll work around that? Edit: They sometimes do provide straws, but it varies on vendors.
