Former Vice President and current 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden said Trump "believes there is no limit to his power" and "believes he is above the law."

"This isn’t a Democratic issue or a Republican issue. This is a national issue," Biden tweeted.

Why Biden matters: President Trump repeatedly pushed for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Biden, and his son, Hunter, during a July 25 phone call, according to a transcript of the conversation released by the White House.

There is no evidence of wrongdoing on the Bidens' parts.

BUT WAIT BIDEN!
Aren't you the one who bragged about getting a Ukrainian prosecutor fired?

Biden makes my blood go cold. There is something so unnerving about his demeanour.

That’s because Biden strikes some of us at the Democratic party equivalent of Donald Trump. They are basically cut from the same cloth at this point.

What I don’t like about Biden the most is that he rides off the coattails of the Obama presidency when it’s convenient for him. He’ll acknowledge and brag about any accomplishments but the minute he’s in the hot seat for something Obama’s administration was criticized for, he backpedals and cries “he didn’t have much to do with that.”

At this point, I think he just says whatever suits him and tries to see what sticks to the wall. Being here in the state of Delaware, it’s unnerving how people blindly support him just because he’s from Delaware...because that’s the only criteria that matters of course.

I don’t think Trump and Biden are alike at all but I respect your point of view.

They’re not literal one-for-one identical so equivalent may not have been the best choice of words.

Biden to me is the token candidate for blind loyalty. He can do no wrong in the eyes of most Dems; if Bernie Sanders or anyone who isn’t a party favorite said or did half the s*** that Biden has they would be eaten alive.

For me, what makes then similar is the fact that if they mess up their superfan supporters continue to support knowing they’re in the wrong. The “it’s okay if he did it mentality.”

In that case he is smarter than he makes himself out to be. Very cunning, both him and his die hard supporters.

Lets get some things straight. Joe Biden DID help push to get this man fired BUT the Obama admin AND the Ukraine supported it, because Shokin refused to investigate or prosecute the corruption of Zlochevsky. Zlochevsky was blatantly corrupt and had control over many Ukrainian energy firms and was doing damage to the country. The Obama admin. pushed an anti-corruption agenda in foreign affairs and thus wanted him out. Zlochevsky was eventually forced out of office and Shokin was fired for refusing to do his job and prosecute him in the first place. Biden helped push for this, but it was a good thing and THAT is why he is bragging about it. Hunter Biden getting a job on a board of a gas company that was under Zlochevsky's purview at the time IS probably some kind of "you got this job because of who your dad is", but Joe Biden actually didn't do anything illegal there. There's also no indication that Hunter marketed in internal US affairs through information he learned through Joe either.

Again, we know Trump is an IDIOT. He's got himself into this mess through trying to pursue an ALREADY DEAD story :deadbanana: That's the kicker. Biden surely has many skeletons in his closet, but this isn't really one of them. Could there be more to this? Perhaps, but its nothing huge most likely.

All news that wants to turn Trump's impeachment inquiry into "but joe biden!!! hes corrupt" when the facts are that he was helping pursue Obama's anti-corruption strategy, legally, by helping to oust a corrupt state prosecutor who neglected his duty in prosecuting a brazenly corrupt energy magnate and state official. This story is dead on arrival, and will only be further perpetuated by news sources that do not want to accept Trump's blatant admission of wrongdoing here as what's dominating the news cycle.  Unfortunately, this is what happens when you don't do your homework and still try to pass yourself off as a journalist :ladyhaha:

Well neither what Biden nor Trump did is illegal, but what Biden did is far more unethical. Getting someone fired and being proud of it is so cruel.

You're wrong on both counts here.

What Trump did IS illegal, in many ways. What Joe Biden himself did (oust a corrupt prosecutor under Obama admin's approval) is not illegal, nor unethical. Hunter Biden getting a job there because Biden helped them is ethically grey, but also not Illegal.

The prosecutor was not doing his job and doing measurable harm to the Ukraine AND U.S.-Ukraine foreign relations. He deserved to be fired and all parties agreed :rip: "Well, he was mean about it" is... I'm not touching that.

How can you be illegal in many ways? It’s pretty black and white. Sorry but the whole facade was premised on Schiff who fabricated Trump’s words in the phone call and admitted he was making a parody out of Trump’s own words. The weasel has just been discredited.

Biden is sick. Truly sick. Like his health looks like it’s disintegrating before our very eyes. He needs to step down for his own wellbeing. He has allowed this charade to go on too far.

Oh yeah, the classic whataboutism. You can't find a post made by the right without some form of whataboutism. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Former First Lady of the United States. Now card-carrying member of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

By "in many ways" I meant that the threshold for what makes this illegal is very low, and its likely that there are multiple ways that he has broken the law we dont know about yet. Just talking to a foreign official with the intent to profit politically is already enough basically.

You're clearly watching fox news or something, his words have nothing to do with the seriousness of this and this talking point is only being reported on in far right & even some borderline conspiracy-theory territory websites :rip:  He didn't make the phone call, didn't create the transcript, isn't the whistleblower, etc. Schiff being parodic in describing it (and still being entirely accurate :laughga: ) is NOT a big deal, but this is how right wing media works. Distract from issues, don't let their viewers/readers know the truth. You are aware you can read the transcript yourself yes? I'd suggest you do it but you seem to have a penchant for deflection, so I'm sure there's a "it doesnt mean anything!" talking point to pivot to :rip:

Also, you're talking to someone who happens to hate Joe Biden so :fan:

Good luck on trying to convince a right winger with facts. It’s pretty much impossible as they live in a fantasy world :laughga:

But anyways thank you for summarizing everything so well!
