If you are non-binary, you are a person. It doesn't matter what you identify as, and for that being said I'm also tired of identifying as gay, bi, or straight. Most of the division that's happening now I feel is because gays feel the need to scream that they are gay through extravagant clothing, trying too hard to be different. I'm not saying that some don't wear it because they like it, but some if not most are just attention seeking.

But my point was: That dictionary doesn't mean anything. The oxford is the reference and like I also stated they acknowledge the singular they has a valid option and back it with historical facts. But they also state that it is controversial in nature and some people don't agree. 

Simple as that. I dont understand why you quoted me since I didn't say anything controversial. I simply stated that when it comes to english words you should look on oxford first. It's still cool that they add it on that other dictionary.

And those organisations are purposely contrarian. Most people use singular they without thinking in casual conversations.

This isn't people asking you to completely revamp grammar or the English language, this is people asking you to respect some of the basics you decided to ignore until now.

If you have no problem with “you” being both, singular and plural at the same time (and was once entirely plural), you can also deal with they being the same.

We are all confused by a lot of things, and that's fine. Nobody needs to fully understand absolutely everything. I myself am confused by a lot of things.

You could take any Barbie doll and decide they're non-binary. It's also sad that this kid in the article is non-binary and wants representation but doesn't like traditional Barbie dolls because "yuck it's too girly". I'm not following Barbie news closely but seeing how they've made dolls in all shapes and very different looks in the past years, I'm sure there are plenty of non-pink-glittery-princess Barbie dolls out there.

I genuinely don't know Astro's gender, "they" is a gender neutral pronoun and also the word being discussed in this thread.

I appreciate the "spread love not hate" check but it's really not that deep. It wasn't a hateful read, just a shady wink. I gave an example of  a sentence where "they" can be used as "singular they"; yes it was snarky but not off-topic at all. If Astro was seriously upset I don't think I would have received the "like" from them that I did and if they wanted a serious apology I'd give one.

If we’re talking science, There are two sexes.  Gender is a social construct  And we are free to be different and be whatever whoever we want to be and if it bothers you, idk what to tell you because it’s out of your control.  And it’s out of my control whether you are accepting of others or not, however, i think most people here would prefer no negativity on this site, thank you
