Everyone is down with using singular they, even unintentionally, people use it with no problem whatsoever. It’s only when it is about non-binary people, that society suddenly gives a lot of shits about grammar.

There are some organizations that reject they for singular use. The oxford page has an article about it. While its use has been date back to 1300, there is still people today that don't accept or consider they has singular. 

But my point was: That dictionary doesn't mean anything. The oxford is the reference and like I also stated they acknowledge the singular they has a valid option and back it with historical facts. But they also state that it is controversial in nature and some people don't agree. 

Simple as that. I dont understand why you quoted me since I didn't say anything controversial. I simply stated that when it comes to english words you should look on oxford first. It's still cool that they add it on that other dictionary.

Can you believe that gender roles are just a social construct and that there's no need to put a label on an 8 years old kid because one day they like black and the other pink or bc they like to play with their siblings' toys ? This kid has just been raised to be indifferent to the social requirements people imposed to us. Do anybody here believe that having long hair is a girl stuff ? Or just because today you wanna have short hair means that you're a boy ? I'm so tired with these new concepts we're all being taught, which are, at the end, not that different from old conservatives ideologies which lead to homophobia and sexism. Play with whatever you like, dress the way you like, never mind how some people could take it and stop putting a word or a label on each situation. I'm so happy Mattel's making more products to please all the demand and that people find the product they need, that's what companies are made for (we won't lie, it's nothing else than a marketing strategy), but it's so boring to see all the polemics people make of these kind of stuff. Like who cares ? Honestly... There's been a thread about sam smith switching their pronouns for days now, who actually cares, does it change anything to who the person is ? Is this artist just a gender for all of us ? Keep your mind focused on what really matters, which is loving and respecting yourself and the people who love you too.I don't personally even like to be identified as a gay male, I'm just someone who can be emotionally and sexually attracted to some people of the same gender, that's all.
