ck105 178
The issue here is doing this stuff on stage while she's working. As a performer, you're supposed to be professional and not do things that could possibly compromise your performance. Also, you don't want to make it seem like you're influencing your younger fans to do this if there are some in the audience who don't know any better. Bebe 17,106
Well I didn't find Gaga's smoking offensive...this time. She is in a place where it is legal and socially accepted to do that kind of stuff. Well I don't have any issue with your point of view. It can just be frustrating when people pretend that Lady Gaga is a child's act and act shocked when she does something that isn't kid friendly. Sara 1,133
You're using a lesser of two evils reasoning, that has no place in any discussions. That might be true, but making a choice between lesser of evils is a real thing we all do. If you want to party and have a mind-altering experience, there's no totally healthy way to do it, so you pick the least dangerous way. We make those choices all the time. I'm going to eat a bowl of cereal because at least it's not as unhealthy as the cheeseburger, fries, and coke that I really want. But ideally I wouldn't eat cereal and I would eat nothing but fresh vegetables all the time. I'm choosing the lesser of evils because I can't be good always. Most people can't. :) I think people who try to be role models with the message "ALWAYS do the good thing" are being unrealistic to the point of being dangerous. It's like pushing abstinence and never mentioning condoms.
QueenMortuana 1,199
So much beef over this. It's not like Gags is a train wreck. I'd understand the issue if she was but she for the most part she's a very put together woman and I think her chilling out, smoking pot gives people a better idea of the d--g; that it isn't just for dirtbags and such. Plus she smoked it on stage in a country where it's legal. If little ones didn't see it from Gags they would see it elsewhere. Also when it comes to her health, a joint today won't kill her tomorrow. She'll be toking for a while. She probably did just as much damage to herself with drinking way before she delved so deep into smoking weed. ck105 178
I know Gaga is in place where it's acceptable to smoke weed, but there is still an issue of being professional while on stage and not doing stuff that could compromise your performance. People drink beer at NASCAR events, but that doesn't mean I want the race car drivers to do the same thing while driving. Katie14 4,828
Sorry but gaga has never been a pg13 artist lol. I don't know why parents bring their kids tbh. There is a difference between not being a pg 13 artist through her videos, songs, and performances and going out of your way to be a bad role model. I don't actually think smoking marijuana makes you a bad role model. But despite that, she smoked weed during a performance. It was during the BTWB. If you are bringing your kid to a show where she swears, stimulates oral s-x and flashes her ass, you shouldn't be shocked and outraged when she smokes marijuana just because that isn't kid friendly. How can you accept her drinking in public, and on stage, and smoking cigarettes publicly yet be outraged when she smokes marijuana publicly?
Forrest Gump 1
Did you know that animals in the wild get drunk? Yeah! In the tropics, there are special trees with a certain kind of fruit. When the fruit drops, all the animal have a general consensus of not picking it up, they leave it there for a few weeks to rot, then at the end of the season animals from all walks of life, birds monkeys felines you name it, they all gather around the tree and feast on the fermented fruit and they get all tipsy. I've never seen an animal light one up. shut up, marijuana is a plant. it came from the earth. if lightning ever struck a field of it you know those animals would be going there after to get high. Perhaps, but I think the way most artists promote getting drunk is a poorer role model than doing weed. And don't get me started on how many artists have done more than their share to promote c-----e and heroin! I'm not saying that makes it right. I'm just saying that being a famous artist and being reckless seem to go hand-in-hand. You have to be a crazy risk-taker to even TRY to be famous. The game favors those who would burn the candle at both ends and trade a lifetime of mediocrity for a few years of glory, and those kind of people aren't going to be worried about long-term health effects. I'm not talking about Gaga specifically, I just mean performers in general. But I'm sure Gaga feels it to some degree too.
famous 467
She took a few puffs off a joint in a country where it's legal. I don't see what the huge problem is. Weed isn't the worst thing in the world either.
