Where?

It's the song I skip on BTW and the fact the people like it here is surprising

I don't really think Americano is overrated on this site. I see a lot of people put it at the bottom of their lists when they rank BTW. However, I do see a lot of people praising the acoustic version of it

HML is overrated

I'm so surprised ; I really thought HML was fairly and fully appreciated by the fans :messga:

If I had to keep only one song from her whole discography and for the rest of my life, it would be HML. How can you not feel the bossy-slutty-up to no good vibe of this song  :what:

Don't worry, it's just how I feel for now lol. It's just that, my taste changes (?)

It was one of my faves last month, but Joanne came and possessed me so meaning, bye-bye PowerPopGa for now.

For now, I like raw vocals and those rock kind of vibe, with a bit of guitar strings and damn drums. Joanne and ASIB is, for now, my favorite.

Maybe later, if I listen to it again, I'll bop my self into the depths of hell and back, covering myself in pleasure and bed ridden quality👄

Oh, I do. Both that as well as Jazz & Piano. But I'd love high-quality audio recordings from a studio. Maybe after LG6 she'll do something like that.

Same. I'd love a version of acoustic or piano covers.

As far as BTW, I always figured she a) didn't know (most likely) or b) let her co-writer, a Scandinavian guy, convince her that it was fine for the lyrics to include Orient since it's still used in many other countries. It's embarrassing, as I'm an WOC from the states, but I had no idea it wasn't okay until about ten years ago...probably because the word is prevalent in my mom's native country (like you see restaurants with it in their names, etc.) and it wasn't uncommon to see the word pop up in contemporary books and magazines (I haven't seen the word in contemporary books/magazines for the past several years, tbh). I just thought it was a foreign, different way of saying "Asian." Still surprised Interscope didn't say anything, tho.

*HML has fun, catchy, great lyrics but is completely overproduced. The production even overshadows her voice.

*Joanne is one of her best albums. BTW is her very best album, it's like if Bruce Springsteen, Elton, Cher, ABBA, and LCD Soundsystem ****ed and created a musical child.

*TFM and The Fame are great, but some of the songs haven't aged well.

*I love Diamond Heart, but I'm meh on the vocal style she used in the song.

*ARTPOP is a mixed bag, but Dope has fantastic lyrics (again, an odd choice of vocals).

*ARUTW is by far the best song off the ASIB soundtrack. Look What I Found is underrated.

*A-Yo would have smashed as a single. Perfect Illusion is underrated and monsters b*tching about it constantly on twitter hurt the album sales.

I love your description of Joanne! And yes, A-Yo is a banger. Sometimes it's played in my fitness class, and people love it.

Subjectively, I prefer Is That Alright? off the ASIB soundtrack, but I think ARUTW and INLA both probably are  stronger songs.

That makes sense. I wish she'd consider revising the lyrics a bit, because it distracts from her message. I also find the whole refrain of trying to include different races and sexualities to be a bit cringe-worthy because the lyrics feel more like they're just aiming for easy, forced rhyme. Oh well. I'll blame her co-writer Jeppe Breum Laursen [had to look up his name]. ;)

Another unpopular opinion of mine related to BTW is that I prefer the live version, especially the Jazz & Piano one, to what's on the album.
