Not defending Camila, but I'm pretty sure the majority of those claims were debunked for the most part (people proved that a lot of the screen shots were 'shopped)—that's the reason none of the mainstream tabloids or blogs, outside of user generated places like ONTD, covered the alleged racist remarks as far as I know..... That said, while I'm pretty sure most of it was debunked there were definitely a few things that weren't....but since there's a history of people making ish up about her who knows?

The mainstream media covered Shawn's previous history of racist remarks in comparison because it could be authenticated.

I side eye anyone with a blatantly racist/homophobic past.

There's a difference between telling a harmless joke and just being actively racist/homophobic.

Yes, people grow and change. But those thoughts don't just instantly vanish.

 

Maybe this is why I lowkey don't really like her; I never really got too involved with her as a solo artist.

I think some of the messages were proven to be faked by some fifth harmony stans that didn’t like her, no? At least that’s what was being said on social media but honestly those claims are just as reliable as the screenshots themselves. Still, saying something at 14/15 doesn’t make you a racist now. It’s not like alcoholism where you’re still considered an alcoholic when you’re sober.
