I could see a lead single coming this year. It would have to be October though. Polydor said new music in 2019 and UMG France had that very early/early 2020 date for the album. Both are the most legitimate sources we've had, and both could technically be correct if she released according to the schedule you laid out. Artists are also releasing singles a lot earlier nowadaysโpretty sure Me! was out four months before Lover and I know Billie's singles dropped really early...and Billie is also with Interscope. Maybe it's a streaming thing? I could see a November/December single date and a February album release. The big factor is Adele. She's obviously coming soon, and I wouldn't be surprised if labels tried to arrange or rearrange their artists release dates so they don't have release withinย 4 or 5 weeks from when she drops an album.
