DonatellaPop 3,482
She uses fillers to help with Fibro, I think. EDIT: I'm sorry but what's so funny? https://blacklivesmatter.com/
Miel 15,009
I think she's speaking on the transformative effects of the makeup itself. You can be traditionally beautiful if that's what your idea of beauty is; or, if it isn't, then be what your idea of beautiful is. It's about not prescribing to pressures of society's ideals of beauty. 3 points in and ready for more

Maybe to an extent? But overall I think it's an aesthetic choice. My initial guess was that she started doing this to mitigate the effects of fibromyalgia pain on her face (in the 5F2 documentary, it looked like her face and body were getting kind of gaunt for some reason, so I thought she got facial treatments to reverse that). That said, I feel like it all began with AHS in order to look more masculine/vampiric? 3 points in and ready for more
Addison Rae 16,592
This is so wrong. I think you can still love yourself/promote a message of self love and acceptance and get plastic surgery. body modifications/aesthetic procedures only add to who you are, they don’t make you who you are. From your view, are you suggesting trans individuals are “dishonest” for getting fillers when they are trying to look more like the gender they identify with/work on their insecurities? When the world is heavily reliant on visual perception our image tells a story, and material augmentations to our individual visual story can seem superficial, as consumers we turn products into pieces of our identity, what is in between the perceptions of wearing super dry and wearing revlon, smoking cutters choice over Marlboro. A person's trans identity can be incredibly affected by their own visual presentation to the world, makeup, hair dye, bleaching, botox, surgery. applying these things to our image does not make us fake, our belongings and ideas become part of our identity. Zander 14,910
I totally get what she’s saying but at the same time I think it’s ever so slightly contradictory of her (but then haven’t we all said something contradictory). I’ve noticed she tends to be like this when she’s promoting something... It’s not that she’s being disingenuous it’s just I think she lacks conviction in what she says and can come across as not being genuine sometimes. No hate, just an observation. I'm in no way dragging her for having fillers.
Caprice 57
I understand why this may seem like a contradiction to you. I see it like this: We all have notions of what is considered 'beautiful', aka what we assume to be validated by most. These days full lips have gained a lot of admiration causing people to want that look, sometimes going as far as getting lip filler. Gaga recognises that these standards of beauty are limiting. That doesn't mean we should shame people for liking those things or 'conforming'. It's not about being a rebel and doing the opposite of what's the norm. Because that too is limiting. You are still directly influenced by the norm if you just turn it around. You're look still depends on it. Instead she encourages to free yourself from the standard and do what makes you feel good whether it's 'approved' or not. So you should still get big lips if you want to. You're not going to dislike them because eveyone else likes them. You are not just a follower of beauty standards, you can decide for yourself what it means to you. Makes it fun and easy to discern what year a candid photo is from LOL 2015, in particular, is very recognizable lmaooo. 2017- and on has been pretty consistent, though. Sometimes, almost close to her original face. 3 points in and ready for more
noisullitcefrep 3,871
I don't think we should take it that seriously It's just some bad wording taken out of some random interview. Like, who has the time to care? Besides that I don't think she's that stupid and believes people will think the effect of her fillers are just make-up. She's well aware that people know about her injections yet empowers people to free themselves with the power of make-up. If anything it makes it even more honest
Sanne Godijn 2,203
Gagas lips aint even that big they look normal to me also she admitted that she doesnt always practice what she preaches so i wouldnt worry to much about this

Hyaluronic acid is v. important in your synovial fluid and you can get HA injections right into the joint if you have an joint disorder, like idk... destroying your hip @ 26 but that doesn't explain the HA dermal fillers! I actually wonder about this probably more than I should because I'm genetically predisposed to an autoimmune disorder like Gaga is w/ lupus and, for that reason, I'd never get dermal fillers. I'm also probs overly cautious. Girls getting their boobs done, falling ill with chronic pain only to recover after getting their implants taken out scared me straight. I'd be so ****ing paranoid if I had face pain like she does.
